Daniel always dreamed so vividly.

Daniel was pulled from unconsciousness with a jolt. In sudden confusion not unlike that of a newborn pup whose yet to learn to open their eyes, his hands blindly searched the darkness for the familiar warmth. But when his hands found nothing but empty sheets, Daniel remembers.

Holden's gone.

Daniel's face contorted in the darkness. A broken sound escapes his lips, and he curls into the sheets, hoping to find comfort in the cold fabric. He doesn't.

Another broken sound drowns out the sound of his door creaking open. Heaving shoulders prevent the sound of shuffling feet from announcing the other presence to his numb ears.

A gentle hand touched his hair, and Daniel started, and his love's name almost escaped past his teeth. But Daniel already knew who it was.

"I can't stop," Daniel moaned into his damp pillow. "It's been months, and I can't stop dreaming about him. I miss him so much."

makes the bed in the mornings

Elsie and Dan made an agreement that who ever got up last would make the bed. A fair agreement, even thought Dan always wakes up earlier.

has sole posession of the T.V. remote

Dan and Elsie would play fight over it, and Dan always ‘lost’ with little complaints. Dan just initiated the fights so that Elsie would lay on top of him as if to pin him down.They just lay like that on the couch as they watch Elsie’s shows.

stays up until 2am reading

Elsie. She loves reading, and Dan halfheartedly grumbles about the light as he cuddles up on her lap as she props her book on his head.

is the bigger cuddler

Daniel loves physical contact in general, and Elsie is still getting used to being touched in such a gentle and loving manner.

does the laundry

Elsie does, mostly because she has a specific way of doing it that Dan always forgets how to do. No, you can’t have reds with blues, yes, you can’t put whites in the dryer. Empty out the lint catcher every time.

mows the lawn

Dan usually procrastinates doing it, but Elsie always bribes him to do it by making homemade lemonade. Elsie always put in limes and strawberries in the lemonade, and it is divine.

is better at budgeting

Elsie. Dan is getting better at budgeting, if only to encourage his younger mates to be good with money, too.
