Twelve, she doesn't want to think about how terrified she had been when the siblings -- when everyone -- had gone to the edge of the universe. It reminded her of how she'd felt when the Scions had been taken to the First. Lyse knew she'd never really been like them, in a number of ways, but still there had been an unsettling feeling of helplessness in the face of it.

But that was in the past; now, she blinked in surprise at Meiko's warning as she sat with her friend in a saved, fractured world.

" Me? And when've you known me to freak out? " Lyse teases, not above poking fun at herself. " I promise I've got the stomach for whatever you're about to tell me. So -- go on -- spill! "

To bask in the light of Menphina is to be seen. Scone has found his fair share of solace here, under the moonlight. It is a balm to his worries, the feeling of a hand upon his back when he can't sleep. He's known, for a while now, that the goddess of the moon is his patron. Some days, it admittedly feels a bit...ill-fitting.

A killer of gods. A fearless hero. His hands are not clean, and he'd have to dirty them more before this star was saved. Did he have room for love? Could he afford such softness, lest it cause him to stumble?

In the quiet of the gardens of Old Sharlayan, where everything is holding its breath, it's easy for Scone to get distracted. And he wished he didn't. And he wished G'raha didn't look at him so, with such a gentle gaze under the moonlight.

Something shakes loose within him at the other's words -- something that had snapped when he'd been nearly consumed by light in the First. Scone blinks away tears in surprise, before ducking his head. Hides his gaze below his brim.

" Maybe, " he finally concedes, after a lengthy silence. " Seems...more believable comin' out of your mouth than my own. Maybe when this is all over, it'll be easier to wrap my head around. "

He’s always hated the moments before sleep. How everything goes silent, how there’s nothing to keep his mind from wandering. The best nights are when he’s too tired to worry — the ones where he’s asleep before his head hits the pillow. Had he been alone that evening, he’d have gotten up to do…something or other, until his body felt heavier.

But, no. There’s a viera tucked into bed beside him, keeping him in place with a sturdy arm. Every time Scone moves, Tai Yang’s hold on him tightens ever so slightly. A gentle warning.

Rest. You need it.

And so the miqo’te has given up the fight, but not without a fruitless huff. He turns to bury his face into the chest of his mirror, and tries to still his mind enough to drift into sleep. A soft purr starts in his chest, gentle and rumbling.

After all, it would be fruitless to try and struggle. If the other hero of this star — someone who was equally resistant to rest — was insisting, then it must be serious. Perhaps it would be alright, just for a moment, to let the weaving of fate go unbothered by his touch. Just for a spell.

" You win this time. " Sleepily muttered in the space between flesh and sheet, tucked behind a smile as Scone closes his eyes.
