Pickpocket
Standing in the Bowerstone market square, Jedi stood back in the shadows, watching the people passing her and waiting for the opportune moment. She bit at her lip, looking at the marks surrounding her until finally, she saw an old man. Her eyebrow arched a moment, taking him in. perfect.
She pulled her hood up over her head, stepping out from behind the building and into the square. She wove her way through the crowd, approaching her mark. Getting close enough, she brushed against him, one hand closing around the purse hanging off his belt and the other around her dagger in case of trouble. Pulling the purse of his belt, she turned away. Another successful pickpocket. @toprotect-andserve

Richard pressed himself against the wall, gasping for air as his hands shook. He had run. Run as fast as he could away from what happened.
He didn’t mean it. He didn’t mean for it happen. He just... lost control. He thought he had it under control. He did have it under control.
Today was just a bad day. That’s all it was. He just needed to lock himself away. Tomorrow would be fine.
But he couldn’t get the horrified faces of those around him out of his mind. He didn’t do it on purpose- the building was just unstable and it was falling and those people would of been crushed and he didn’t want that to happen-
His shadows had stopped that but- but he didn’t mean for his shadows to- he didn’t want them to-
He slid down the wall, choking on a sob.
@wllscars liked for a Siebren date starter
Caught up in his studies of the fabric of this universe, Siebren rarely saw an issue with remaining inside for the bulk of a day for weeks. It made him neglect matters such as hydration and sustenance more than he could afford. It was unwise, at best. After all, the mind required these things just as much as the rest of his body. It did nothing for his mental state to be so isolated either. He didn’t go out to spend time with others often. No one really bothered to approach him while he conducted his studies either, but Garth was a valuable contact for his research—studies into the old kingdom intersected with his own research—so contact with him was unavoidable. Not that he would wish to avoid it; the man was rather pleasant company. Perhaps because he indulged his curiosity, but that was as good a reason as any.
Siebren himself could go into great detail about his ideas surrounding the stars and planets, but history wasn’t his primary interest. Still, it proved to be essential for what he was trying to accomplish. The old kingdom, in turn, had shown itself to be truly fascinating. They knew so much more than anyone currently did. All that knowledge, lost. He could scarcely wrap his head around it.
A light smile tugged at his lips while he tapped his food with his knife—an effort at cutting the meat on his plate as graciously as he could manage—after having finished an impassioned talk about how close he felt he was to a breakthrough, the elation in his eyes rivalling the vibrance of the warmly lit room itself.
“We are one step away. I can feel it. If we could just dig a little deeper, the answers will unfold themselves before us,” he mused, after which he pulled his gaze back to meet Garth’s. “That the old kingdom could still hold so many answers after so long. It’s remarkable what you’ve found. I frankly still don’t know how you do it. Your work is... it’s impressive. More than impressive.”

Starter with Siebren Sigma's Fable 2 verse.
Conjugal visits were a wonderful thing — though we used the term "conjugal" very loosely here. Of course, these were a courtesy Lucien only offered to the Samarkand scholar so he could mock the man. Sigma couldn't judge. Was he not about to do practically the same? So much work he had, and yet he made time for this. He generally only stole a glance at the cell Lucien had trapped Garth in while passing by, despite this part of the Spire being a detour from the way to his workplace. He didn't know why, and he didn't bother to figure it out. Today, however, was different. Sigma had paused. He stood there, only grounded because he willed it so, silently regarding the man he once considered a good colleague, perhaps even a friend. Friend? Colleague? A man whose presence he had enjoyed in the past.
It was quite the manhunt Lucien had sent forth to reclaim Garth. To think it had almost been interrupted. Sigma would not have sen this man anymore, outside his far too loud mind, and perhaps the violent confrontation Lucien would have sent him off to in retaliation.
"It seems Lord Fairfax is rather cross with you," Sigma noted, in a tone more calm and lighthearted than most would likely agree the situation called for. It wasn't as much an act of mockery as it was merely Sigma not caring about the gravity of the predicament Garth currently found himself in. Perhaps, he didn't even understand, not completely. It was almost as though he equated it to being put in timeout.
Sigma steeped his fingers together and a faint smile tugged at his lips. Maybe he had missed the man. "I cannot say I find it entirely unexpected. You do know, after all, how unprofessional it is to prematurely terminate one's contribution to a project."

Starter with Siebren in his Fable 3 verse, before his accident.
It was not every day that Siebren took the time to leave his workplace and put in the effort to visit Albion's mainland. This, however, was the seizing of a rare opportunity, to meet the father of the modern age, Ernest Faraday. There had been a great many stories of his work, and he'd had the pleasure of having a correspondence with him about seeing his newest creations in person. Who would pass up a chance such as that? The spectacle he had built Clockwork Island into was little more than an amusement park to the average visitor, but it held so much more. Such potential was wrapped up and showcased to thousands on this one island, all made possible by one man. If anything, it was a demo, a demo Siebren couldn't help but be more than a little excited to have a look behind the curtains of.
He'd known Professor Faraday and read his works and the news of his various achievements. He also knew the man to be one of the most inventive people in this kingdom. There would always be another idea popping into his mind, which he'd have to be sure to note down. He was an awfully sweet and a bit idealistic or even naive man, and he was brilliant, though a little busy at the moment.
With Faraday having run off to do whatever errands he'd hurriedly bumbled out as he left Siebren on his own, there was little choice other than stay put or snoop around his workshop. Thinking he was on his own and seeing no harm in doing exactly what he'd been invited to a little bit ahead of time and without guidance, Siebren naturally chose the latter. Thinking he was alone unfortunately also left him blinking in surprise when he ran into someone not soon after he'd begun to venture off. It was a petite someone, and he was certain his presence was just as much a surprise to her as hers had been to him.
He wasn't known among those he interacted with to be the most social man, but he at least had some manners. Once his surprise subsided, he gave a modest bow.
"My apologies. I didn't mean to surprise you."
After that, he offered out one hand, still in his light bow, but now meeting the woman's eyes. "Professor Faraday neglected to inform me that he had an assistant in today. I am Dr. De Kuiper. Pleased to meet you."
Shooting a playful smile, he added, "I do hope the good professor hasn't failed to warn you of my arrival."
