SEND “💘” FOR OUR MUSES TO FIND OUT THEY HAVE THE SAME SYMBOL AND ARE SOUL MATES.
She’d assumed it would be Dick, hell Roy was fairly certain everyone had; they’d grown up together, had a lot in common…he’d always liked red heads, and she had a soft spot for dark hair. They’d seemed meant for each other. And then….they weren’t.Dinah had tried to console her; she hadn’t found Ollie until later in life, a lot of people didn’t. Hell, it was rare to find your match right away. Didn’t mean she didn’t want to though. And Dick? She’d loved him, still did, even though he was happy with Barbara-his marked match.
Roy absentmindedly rubbed the mark on her wrist. It was funny how something so small had changed her entire life. It changed everything, meant that her own emotions didn’t matter, that she would love whoever it told her to….be with them forever. Part of her hated it.She wanted to stay in her room, had the majority of the time over the past two weeks, and for a while Dinah had allowed it, eating ice cream with her and petting her hair , but by this point, Dinah had had enough and was demanding that Roy come out and socialize-whether she wanted to or not.
Roy wanted to be mad at her, but she couldn’t. Dinah was right, she couldn’t just curl up and cry, no matter how much she wanted to. SO she got up, put on jeans, boots, and a black sweater that set off her red hair, hell, she even threw on a bit of lipstick to add a bit of life to her wane face. She wasn’t surprised to see Carol downstairs, Hal and Ollie were off for another “boy’s weekend”(here a term that meant running off and acting like idiots while their significant others prayed they didn’t get arrested) and Carol often spent time with Dinah while Hal was away. Normally, Roy wasn’t there, off with Donna …or Dick…..But today, she’d get to stick around while Dinah and Carol discussed Hal and Ollie, their soulmates. It was almost enough to make Roy crawl back in bed.She gave the other woman a small wave as she stuck her head in the refrigerator to grab stuff for a sandwich. She didn’t even bother to cover her mark as so many people did for privacy. No doubt Dinah had told Carol all about her shitty luck.
