damn im so conflicted over whether i should like, forge ahead and try to write the story about Vince and Rudy even though my ideas for the plot are like so paper thin and im never happy with what i come up with or do one of two things:

just write about Vince’s backstory, which i have a much more detailed story for and care about immensely 

condense Vince’s backstory and the ‘present’ story and just take elements from both (so that Vince is still working for Tiberinus rather than Edred)

2 would be like...... simpler but it removes a huge amount of concepts i really care about, like Vince’s relationship with Pirate, the erosion of Vince’s reputation, the effects his backstory had on him now as a person trying to recover from abuse. like i could reuse the ideas in something else, but it sucks to like.... strip away a lot of ideas i care about for obvious reasons.

1 would be even simpler bcs then i dont have to drop any ideas i care about and i could just write the story with Vince and Rudy as a sequel if i wanted to afterwards but the issue with that is it would be... so depressing. Vince’s backstory is fucking brutal and while it would be very interesting going from the obvious starting point (meeting Tiberinus) to the obvious dramatic ending point (Vince and Pirate fleeing London after Vince attempted to kill Tiberinus) it is just. Vince having his life systematically ruined as Tiberinus completely destroys him through abuse and violence and then Vince’s initial attempt to flee that fails.

which is like. the entire thing about Vince and Rudy’s story is theres the emotional catharsis of breaking through a corrupt system to take down an incredibly evil man whos been benefiting from that corruption. like thats my own personal Power Fantasy right there. but if you dont have the victory and catharsis of that part, the first part is just. a whole lot of real bad shit happening.

i could just have the backstory and then present day story as a single long book and die i guess

Action Dolls by Viktor & Rolf

I have always been such a fan of Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf. (see previous post1, 2 and 3) Their new autumn/winter haute couture 2017 collection is yet again very striking and creative. 

The big doll heads, some with big patchwork, are amazing! The duo took the classic bomber jacket and turned it into feminine, haute couture, sculptural dresses. Pieces provided with their well known extra large bows and flowers. A very playful and fun collection!
