A colorful new glasswork window display by Zara home. There is a variety of different shapes and vases stacked in impressive little towers. Using the height and depth of the window space.
I immediately got an association with the Ruutu vases by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for Iittala.
DOEN
This gorgeous composition of color, design and simplicity is created by Dutch interior design studio DOEN. I am in love with this picture! Everyting is right.
The classic yet modern ‘Stay Bench’ is designed by Nika Zupanc for Sé Collections. The art photo is called ‘Pien’ by photographer Maarten Schröder. The Eames ‘house bird’ is by Vitra.
Action Dolls by Viktor & Rolf
I have always been such a fan of Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf. (see previous post1, 2 and 3) Their new autumn/winter haute couture 2017 collection is yet again very striking and creative.
The big doll heads, some with big patchwork, are amazing! The duo took the classic bomber jacket and turned it into feminine, haute couture, sculptural dresses. Pieces provided with their well known extra large bows and flowers. A very playful and fun collection!
Want to see more? Check Viktor & Rolf’s site for the making of the action dolls. Photography by team Peter Stigter.
Wink wink
I love this window installation by Louis Vuitton! Very original. It catches your eye, is really fun, out of the box and makes you smile the first time you see it.
Summer denim style
This window display by department store de Bijenkorf, shows us that denim is never out of fashion! You can combine it in any way and style you like; chic, casual, dressy, with heels or a sneaker. All year through.
The styling of the mannequins show us the fashion trend of the moment. The culottes are still ongoing, the flared jeans is back (for a while now), the denim jacket (a lot in a maxi, destroyed versions) and of course the midi dress. Bleached, dark, or with fringed ends, it doesn’t matter.
Clean summer style
This window display is made by department store de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam. As you have seen in my previous posts, I regularly share something they create, because they do it so well in my opinion.
The styling of this window display is very clean and minimal, with the use of pastels and few accessories. Really, you don’t need anything more.
Summer fashion party!
Department store de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam had a very colorful window display this summer. Very bright and fun! The first window was swimwear with a touch of sportswear. There where inflatable props like a big pineapple and a big swan, with on the floor multi colored balls.
The second window had a vintage twist, mix & match, also using a lot of color. It was styled with a matching style of home decor.
City Jungle
When your in Marrakech, you should definitely visit Jardin Majorelle. It’s an oase of tranquility compared to the busy souk. Take your time to wander around this beautiful garden and take a seat on the terras of Cafe Majorelle to enjoy some delicious Arabic tea.
This fall there will open a new museum at Jardin Majorelle in honor of fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, who lived here. An excuse for me to come back to this colorful Moroccan city!
Some history: The botanical garden is created by painter Jacques Majorelle. He travelled a lot and when he came back from his travels, he always took some exotic plant with him. Later on he added some color, like the famous ‘Majorelle blue’ and the bright yellow. Deep, intense and bold colors that complement very well with al the plants. In the garden he also build his studio, which is now a museum, open to public. At the end of the 1960′s Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge discovered the Jardin Majorelle. Eventually they became owners of the garden and the villa and brought life back to the garden.

Menara Airport Marrakech
This spring I visited Marrakech for the very first time. The first acquaintence with this Moroccan city is this very modern contemporary airport. Something which I certainly did not expect!
I really loved the look and feel. Such a great design by E2A Architects. There is a lot of detail when you look closer. What I found very striking was the roof in front of the building that was ‘flying’ outwards. There was an overhang of 24 metres long, incorporated with a mosaic pattern which gave a beautiful shadow play inside and out. I also really liked the terminal arrival. It was a big glass dome, with al lot of detail on the glass and round shapes hanging on the ceiling, very spacious.
So when you visit the Menara airport in Marrakech, take your time and look around before you visit the city.

Great winter window display with a cuddly, furry Yetti by Diesel.
I was just strolling through Amsterdam and saw this very nice minimalistic tone on tone window display by Cos. The presentation speaks for itself and doesn’t need anything more. (Photo: bloggers own)
Anecdote x the Dutch National Ballet
Altough I don’t find this outfit of fashion brand Anecdote very spectacular, I love this collaboration between Anecdote and the Dutch National Ballet. Great music choice and beautiful flowing movements by principal dancer Igone de Jongh. Its very intruiging and I can watch and listen to it over and over again.
