Not once could Loqi remember actually raising his voice at Prompto over the years. He had stepped up to take care of him when their adopted parents were frequently absent, but had also been like any other typical big brother and picked on him occasionally with a few surprise nerf darts to the face.
When Prompto set his heart on befriended the Prince at school he had mixed feelings, but decided not to get in the way since it seemed he was finally getting his act together. Besides it might also give him information that he could quietly pass onto the empire. When he graduated high school he joined the Kingsglaive only under orders from the Empire, as he would forever be their loyal spy and soldier so Prompto could have a quiet and ordinary life. He never thought that a few years later he would hear word through the grapevine that Prompto was joining the Crownsguard now that he too was an adult.
There had been no happy greeting that evening when Loqi came home. After loudly barging open the door and throwing his coat over the couch he roughly grabbed his little brother by the front of his shirt and pulled him close. Seeing him already in his Crownsguard clothes made him sick.
“The hell is this about Prompto?! Answer me!”
Not once did he ever let on that he was faithfully working for the other side, and it was going to stay that way. However if Prompto stayed on this path then he would have no choice but to meet him on the battlefield one day.
