"LITTLE GREY!" A voice called out before two arms wrapped around Emily's waist from behind, picking her up off her feet with a tight hug. "IT'S BEEN SO LONG!!!"
Emily let out a small yelp, shocked to be picked up off of her feet, forgetting what it feels like to be liftable and in her armor outside of strictly her quarters.
“Adam! It has been some time” The doctor laughed, after being but back down.
“How have things developed?”

Tex is going to dramatically fall to the ground. "A kiss, from a beautiful woman."
Emily gave a soft snort of laughter “Well I can’t kiss you when you’re on the floor my love”
Adam immediately barged in with a body bag slung over his shoulder. "Hey, Emily. Do you have a minute for a quick autopsy?" His normal enthusiastic smile was tempered with how he was actually feeling. Something was definitely concerning him.
"I ALWAYS have time for an autopsy!" Emily answered excitedly, literally dropping what she was doing which resulted in a loud clang and a Raccoon scurrying off into her office. "Just put the body on the table, I'll go get my things!" She told him, rushing off to grab a cart that was across the room.
"A vivisection, Theta, is where you cut someone or something open while it's still alive!" The doctor smiled
"Is it dead...?" He let out a small whimper as he cowered behind Emily with his armor letting off a slight glow. "Please tell me it's dead. I beg you."
“Well outside of the few, slowly dying cells, I say yes. You’ve probably killed it” Emily’s vision flickered between him and the creature “But you never know, it’s spores could be heat activated! There may be hope yet!”
"THE SMOLDERING REMAINS TO MAKE SURE IT'S DEAD!" He hid behind the Medic with his arm sheering and sparking with blue static. He really didn't like that thing. "It was almost as twisted as the Infested!"
“Well it certainly wasn’t sentience, as far as I know anyways.” the last part was a little more of a side comment muttered to herself “But I guess there’s always something to be learned from wreckage!”
"KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!" Adam shouted, sending a bolt of lightning from out his arm through the tips of his fingers and striking the slimy tentacle fungus pod thing.
“Oh!” Emily exclaimed, her shock and surprise quickly turning into pure fascination. “I don’t know what to look into first! The smoldering remains or what you just did! Care to explain?”

Emily’s breathing was shallow, she was loosing a lot of blood, and fast, and at the top of her list of problems was her field kit being 2 yards away.
“Lo...” She murmured, a sharp pain shooting through her chest when she inhaled to speak. Bullet holes in her side and shoulder, a punctured lung. “Hey.. it’s not your fault” She’d taken her helmet off when he’d approached and as she took a wheezing breath it sputtered and coughed, flecks of blood spraying out.
She managed a weak smile, looking up at him.
