something burns in her, but jei doesn't understand why. why it matters to her so much. why she cares.
joohyun is both someone that she barely knows, and someone that she feels like she knows everything about. perhaps it's because they're all too similar in a way, or maybe it's just because she likes her. it's rare for jei to connect with someone so easily, and maybe it was made easier by the fact that she and joohyun are rather similar. that they've gone through some similar situations, that they're both bitter and jaded but still find things that sparkle in the world.
joohyun is a diamond, and she deserves better than this. maybe that's why jei is so mad - because she'd doing this to herself.
finding out that joohyun was kicked from trc was painful enough as it was. they'd managed to finally connect and get closer, only for tiger jk to destroy her contract barely a month into her training. it left jei out of sorts and even more angry at the entertainment industry than she already was, even though she understood it. she hates herself for understanding.
but this? finding out joohyun was trying out for the mgas - for the third season in a row - only makes her furious. knowing that she was removed from trc to rest her injury only further unsettles her, and realizing that joohyun is going to debase herself for a chance at a show that only keeps tearing her down when she deserves so much more than it gives her makes jei want to slap the girl upside the head.
she won't, though. joohyun is a diamond.
it's about time that she sees it, so she's going to make her see it when they meet up. it's just a simple meeting over coffee, but jei knows that it means more than that. because joohyun means more to her than that.
