“A well meant lie is still a lie,” he sighed, “Odin will never let me be free, he’d sooner kill me.”
“Van, my name’s Van,” he didn’t like lying but if he wanted to make his way home from the fields of Asgard Odin consigned him to it was necessary. They didn’t know he could shapeshift, even when Tyr realized Fenrir was missing they’d look for a wolf not a boy. “And my parents aren’t waiting for me, they’re dead.”
“What are you afraid of the big bad wolf?” It wasn’t the smartest idea to joke like that whilst masquerading as an Asgardian child but he didn’t really feel a need to be too on edge about discovery. They thought him a monster and a beast, they’d never entertain the idea he could shapeshift. “I don’t see why I should worry about him, I didn’t even catch a glimpse of him and I was in the fields for hours.”

Fenris stared at the person, unsure who they were and why they were here. He stared at them, tail and ears standing straight. “Who are you,” he asked as he did his best to seem like he wasn’t at all intimidated. “Tyr will know if you hurt me.”
