@victorious-muses asked “I do not believe that.” { therapy/trauma/post trauma starters }
❝ You’re so many things Sigyn. Loyal, kind, intelligent.... but despite being right so many times in our marriage; I’m afraid this isn’t one of those times. ❞ He did appreciate her optimism, it was one of the many reasons he loved her (and there were loads); but her loyalty to him was blinding her to what he really was. He was a monster; plain and simple. Why else wouldn’t his parents Odin and Frigga tell him he was a Frost Giant? He wasn’t even sure why they had kept him in the first place; other than to use him as some political tool...at least, that’s what he assumed Odin had planned. He couldn’t believe his mother would ever have seen him in that way.
It didn’t change how much it hurt, or how traumatic learning about his true heritage had been. Loki had hidden away for days, leaving the comforts of the palace for an abandoned hut far from the heart of Asgard. Yet no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t seem to move past how betrayed he felt, or the fact that he now felt like he was a danger to everyone he cared about. He’d not told anyone where he was going, he would have accepted living alone forever, however hard that might have been...he should have known Sigyn would find him. He knew he shouldn’t be, but he was happy to see her. He didn’t feel so alone with her by his side, even if she was in danger now because of him.
❝ We all know Frost Giants are monsters, which means I’m one too. ❞ Sigyn had been doing her best to comfort him, but for all her efforts, he was unable to see things the way she did. ❝ It explains so much. Why Odin always favored Thor, why I’m so...evil, why I’ve always felt like an outsider or why I’m so....vile. It’s because I am. ❞
