1986-1991 Mercedes S-class (W126)… in this case a top-of-the-line 560SEL.

US version, which came pretty much loaded.  Only options in the US were 4-place seats, power rear sunshade, and traction control for the last model year. (although there were several options not available to US buyers).

Introduced in the fall of 1979, the W126 S-class was produced until 1991.  The quintessential ‘80s luxury car.

IMHO, the best mass-production car in the world at the time…. (Rolls-Royce and other exotics may have used better materials, but the basic engineering is what I am talking about).

This is a series-2 facelifted version (1986).
