Pushing his seething irritation at Barbossa to the back of his mind, Jack took a deep breath through his nose and then gave Jade a wry smile. There was so much to feel and he was accustomed to processing very little save through sex, petty violence, or running away. Sometimes in short succession. He hadn't had the opportunity to do any of that barring a brief encounter with Beckett following their return from the Locker and his head was swimming with schemes, the pain of betrayals, and the lingering terror of his own madness and experience with Hell. If he hadn't had Jade, he didn't know what would have become of him.
"Unpredictable as predicted," he said as he sauntered over. "Elizabeth is now King. We make sail in the morning for negotiations with Beckett under her banner. In true pirate fashion, it's all for each other and every man for 'imself."
He knew full well that there were many plans at play for how the war should be ended. Whether he should or could follow through with his own undesirable plan first remained to be seen.
