The party was to celebrate the defeat of Earth's latest threat, one with which the Asgardians had assisted, including Loki. Thor had promised his brother would be on his best behaviour, whatever that meant, but that of course had not prevented the cautious stares and casual avoidance of some of the heroes.
Loki himself had sampled a few drinks, though only enough for a light buzz so far.
