He hadn’t been surprised when he’d gain - albeit temporarily - the upper hand before ultimately losing the match to his younger opponent. Jason didn’t mind it too much, though, in fact, he’d quite enjoyed their match, even if he wasn’t used to losing. But maybe in the future he’d get a rematch and win, or not, he didn’t know and would not be bother by it if it never happened.
But he was surprised when he suddenly announced their future partnership, he hadn’t expected him to want to fight together, nor that he was ‘perfect’, even if that was what he was striving towards. Jason stood up from his previous seated position and he glanced at him impassively. “O, really?” It wasn’t really a question, but it might have sounded like it.
The director wasn't pleased. At the start he had refused for Jason to even try, but Tim had insisted and now it resulted that Jason was drift compatible with the teen? The director was not pleased indeed. "He can't be your partner or have you forgotten he is criminal?" Said the director with a cold voice and Tim sighed. He had heard Jason's little statement and then the director complaining. It was like the world was against him in that moment.
"I haven't forgotten. After my co-pilot died two months ago you have been trying to pair me up with a new one, but without success. You haven't even allow me to mourn his death, to forget the feeling when he died. He was still connected to me when he was killed, you know? So far, Jason is the only I felt the kind of connection I felt with my previous co-pilot. Give him a chance."
The director crossed his hands and turned to look at Jason while thinking. "What if he doesn't want to?" Said the secretary of the director. She had as much power as the director mainly because she was the adopted daughter of the director.
"He was sentenced to pay for his crimes as a volunteer here, right?" The woman nodded. "Then he can't say no. Is not on his hands." Counter-attacked Tim with a serious expression.
"Fine." Said the director leaving the place. Tim sighed in relieve and turned to look at Jason.
"I think you already know my name, but allow me to say it again. I'm timothy Drake, but call me Tim. Nice to meet you." The teen raised his hands and waited for the other to take it and stretch it.
