It had been a day since Leo had gotten the news about his family. Niles had let him take some time off to recover- his retainer was one of the few people he actually cared about, after all. The attack had come as a surprise, and Niles had already sent people out to find out the culprits behind it.
In the evening, Niles went to visit him. He knocked on Leo’s door before pushing it open, offering his retainer a rare comforting smile. “You look rough,” he observed. “Understandably so, I suppose. I think I might have a little something that will cheer you up, though, if you want to hear it. Some news, and then...a proposition, of sorts.”
