It was expected that he sentence him to die, most likely. That was usually how these meetings went. But Niles was feeling lenient today- or perhaps this particular thief was just a little more attractive than most.

“Hmm... Guards, release him. You, thief, tell me your name. And come with me. I want to talk to you some more before making any... rash decisions about your fate.”

If there was one thing Dagon would give this world, it was that it was pleasingly clear.

Not in a sense of clear skies, seas, and land no. Things were easily defined here, and there was little room for interpretation. It was pleasing to have a world that stuck to a universal definition as it were. He supposed time would tell if it would stay that way however. When three tribes tried to fight each other for dominance, the status quo tended to break.

He’d seen the red and the black, now it was the below. What lay here amongst these tribals.

Leo placed a gentle hand to the woman’s shoulder. The action causing the elder to come to a halt. Most of their soldiers shuffled around them. A few curious glances cast in their direction, Leo simply shoot them a glare. A signal that they needed to keep going while he struck up conversation with the dragon princess.

“You look exhausted. Your legs are practically shaking. Go to the rear and get in the carriage. Get some sleep. I will take command until you are well again.”

When Leith came to her side and asked his question, Nix covered the paper with her hands. She was hesitant to answer his question at first, out of shame. Her husband was a prince and was viewed as the leader of this army. How shameful it was that the wife he took was unable to read or write. She was hoping that if she tried hard enough, she could perhaps fake it well enough.. or teach herself.

“I.. I.. don’t know how to write.. or read. I never learned how. Tharros was busy with his duties and.. I was kept busy as well back in Nohr. Someone of low standing like myself didn’t really have that chance. A-Are you.. ashamed? Embarrassed..?”
