“I’ve decided not to change into a new dress until the end of the day. With my luck, there will be more mishaps--”
“I’m sure if you ask Frederick really nicely, he’ll teach you how to dodge.”
Target 1: +2
Target 2: +1 (FAVOR bonus)
Niles smirks and throws the crowd a sassy smirk as he knocks his first arrow. His infamous bravado is in full swing as he fires two shots in quick succession and sends a few hanging targets to the ground. The crowd begins to applaud, impressed.
Target 3: MISS
Target 4: MISS
The applause stops quickly, though, as the notorious retainer’s next two shots go far astray, hitting some of the jack-o-lanterns on decorative display. They both go right through a pumpkin’s eye... was that intentional?
Target 5: MISS (Nat 1)
Bonus Target: MISS
No one is too sure whether or not Niles is just making a joke of the tourney as he continues to miss, firing long and knocking over a bowl of caramel treats (now NO ONE can enjoy them...). His other shot seems to be purposefully awful as well, as it fires way too high and falls down into the moderator box, managing to come down at a perfect angle to catch the shoulder of Exalt Emmeryn’s dress and tear it! The crowd gasps and mutters in concern.
“Oh goodness!” Exalt Emmeryn yelps, not having to use one hand to hold her dress up, lest it fall open and expose her corset. “What is it about archery?!”
"Emm, take my cape! I know about Niles’ reputation. If I could disqualify him here and now, I would, but I think I’ll have to settle for taking him aside at the end of the day.”
Target 1: MISS
Target 2: +3
Target 3: +3
Zero seems far less intentional as his first shot misses. But he makes a fast recovery. After one arrow falls to the ground by a gust of wind, his next two hit a hanging target and shatter a clay bird, earning him newfound applause.
Target 4: +4 (FAVOR bonus)
Target 5: MISS
For a moment, it looks like the sun has gotten into Zero’s eye as he wavers with his aim. But when his arrow flies, it hits the target with a near bullseye! The crowd’s applause increases, with some whoops and hollers in the back.
His fifth arrow misses again, but this doesn’t deter the audience who are still rooting for him. Despite any misconceptions about his depth perception, Zero quickly readies his final, bonus arrow--
It isn’t a perfect shot, but it is a good one! A moving target is hit and Zero is confidently triumphant, the wind billowing his cape in natural dramatic flare.
“They look so much alike, Chrom, I... Are they twins? How do we tell them apart?”
"We... Don’t. Flip a coin to decide the winner? I’m joking. Congratulations, Zero!”
