Looking at the pot of coffee, the brunette couldn`t help but give a small smirk. She had figured it out. Well, well, there was a first for everything. Even solving riddles without consulting anything or anyone for the answer. But she hid her smirk just as quickly as she had formed it, remembering that she had, in fact, opted to pretend she hadn`t known the answer.
Alice sighed slightly. She hadn`t exactly been discreet about snooping, had she? But then again, when was Alice ever discreet? Discretion didn`t seem to be a part of her vocabulary. Anyhow, she was disappointed in herself. That`s why she was still lurking. She hadn`t managed to even get a quote.
“Oh, Essen did ask me to leave the premises. My answer just so happens to be not right now, Cap`n, maybe later. But she needn`t lose any sleep, any intel I gather won`t be released until further down the line. We just want the Globe to be the first to release it.”
“Isn’t there an etiquette for press questions?” Despite Ed’s clear wariness, he had to admire the woman’s gumption. Dancing around the rules was something he certainly could relate to, especially when one was that passionate about their work.
He glanced over his shoulder, but as usual, it seemed everyone bustling to and from the bull-pen were happy to ignore him. And those in his company, it would seem. “Well. I mean. It’s not my place to say anything, and I could get in a lot of trouble for doing so, but...” Another glance, a strangely unreadable expression on his face, masked in a small smirk as he murmured, “The more you take of me, the more you leave behind, what am I?” and he suddenly turned, walking quickly down the steps toward the forensic lab.
