Va-j-j, the "Ancient Astronomy" song that you posted a while back, did you write that song/is that you singing? I think its the sweetest thing in the world <3

I did write it and it is me singing. I wrote it about two people who were in love and wanted to be together but couldn’t be anymore because of circumstances, but they still love each other. That’s very kind of you to say and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you. <3

Hold up. What? Are you talking about the “Nicki: *Stares into the camera like the office* ” post? I think that it’s getting the point across that the media’s focus is completely in the wrong direction. I don’t think it’s mocking, but rather a reminder since everyone (even those who haven’t seen the show) knows exactly what the reference is. That look of “Are you effing kidding me” let’s get back to the real point. I’m clearly missing whatever perspective you have, and am not sure what post you’re specifically referencing so please expand…

Actually our moon is called Selene...

I go by NASA’s nomenclature. 

Selene is the name give to the moon under Greek Mythology. She is the Goddess of the moon, daughter of Hyperion and Theia, sister to Helios and Eos.

How do I tell my new girlfriend that I'm gender fluid, but identify as a lesbian, and use she/her pronouns? I've never had to deal with this before and my gender studies degree is being unhelpful.

Say exactly that. Just be bluntly honest. If she has questions about what it means to be gender fluid, especially in what the term means to you address those. If she rejects your identity right out of the gate get away from her. This is not someone who has your back.

What do you think of KStew's mum outing her to the media?

[If it is true] I think it’s a real shame. After this how do you trust your parents when they are the ones exposing you to the media who are already invasive as it is? I think that perhaps Kristen’s mom may have been overwhelmed by the pressure from the media to say what she did and just did it to get them off of her back. But it’s no excuse. It was not her business to share.

 Although jokes have been made on this blog in the past about Kristen’s sexuality someone a long while ago brought up to us how her sexuality was none of anyone’s business and even by joking about it, we contributed to the added pressure from an external point on her to force her to discuss personal matters and even possibly come out. It made me realize just how much harm there was, even if no one a part of this blog ever directly said something to her it was just in our own community, we were a part of the issue. Following that I know I haven’t blogged about Kristen’s sexuality or any of her relationships. I can’t say that for the rest of the mods but I believe we’ve really held back on contributing to the mass ‘gal pal’ hysteria in reference to Stewart that seems to run the gamut across queer blogs on tumblr. It’s difficult sometimes to know when to draw the line because tumblr is so oversaturated with assumptions about the sexuality of celebrities as well as the sexualization of them. I think with internet culture and with celebrity, people find it really diffuclt to see them as real people. They struggle to separate characters portrayed in television, film and on stage from the real people that are doing the entertaining. I believe with actors who do such a convincing job of putting on the façade that they need to in order to do their jobs it gets lost in translation that these are who they really are. Especially with young celebs who are connected into social media. We need to keep in mind they are doing their job. Outside of the awards shows, interviews, and acting/performing their lives are different, they are different people. 

The important thing to remember is that Kristen still hasn’t come out herself. So to say she’s out and to continue to make posts with assumptions about her that she has not truly said herself means you continue to add to the issue.

I think the big thing to keep in mind with famous people or anyone for that matter is if you stop and think “If someone said this about me or blogged this, would I be hurt, feel invaded, thoroughly creeped out and/or be offended?” if the answer is yes. Then just stop, don’t go through with what you were about to do.

hey i love this blog and everything but could you guys not reblog reposted art artists work really hard to draw and create comics and its not that hard to determine whats reposted and whats not

We try to make sure when we’re reblogging original work that it has the links/credit back to the original artist, but sometimes it gets missed when we’re trying to queue up a bunch of posts. What post in particular is this referencing? If you have the original source/credit we’d be happy to reblog that instead. It’s important to give credit where credit is due.
