he’d been out of town for quite some time. the invitation for dinner always valid , when samuel and victor got back from whatever mess they were getting into. things were still a bit awkward ... though he knew nathan would say otherwise. the events of libertalia would always weigh heavily on his mind. even when they did get around to fully discussing it ——— and he was about to drop the bomb. ❝ hey , little brother ... ❞ a peek over his shoulder. elena and victor animatedly talking about something at the table. ❝ can we talk ? like. outside or somewhere quieter ? ❞

- Arthur really wasn’t all that quick to take to John when he first joined them. It wasn’t outright hatred, it was more about the reason on why they were bothering with him. However, at the time there was nothing he really could complain about when it came to John that couldn’t be fired back at Arthur himself, so it shut him up pretty quick after a few comments. With how small the gang was at the time, it didn’t take long before he started to bond with him, but there was always some sort of frustration from Arthur that still lingered well into adulthood.
- The “don’t be two people at once” conversation both genuine advice and projection from Arthur. It comes from reflection of how he handled the situation with his own son and his mother, something he can’t help but see with John as well. It’s part of why he has held the grudge over John leaving for that year, seeing as John left and then was welcomed back while Arthur tried to keep one foot in each life and lost everything. There’s an envy there that likely would have always existed, much as he moved on from most of that by the end of Arthur’s life.
- Much as Arthur drags his feet about John’s rescue out of pure stubbornness over his grudge, along with him generally being a hardass with him sometimes, he is relieved that John’s doing alright after the opening chapter in the game. Much as he has his issues with his past actions, John is probably the closest Arthur’s felt to having a sibling and that does mean something in the end.
- Much as Arthur knew it was coming, and much quicker than he had been thinking, but Arthur does die with some sort of peace in knowing that a) John is alive when he had been thinking he had died in that train robbery beforehand and b) that staying back to fight Micah and eventually catching the attention of Dutch would give John a chance to reunite with his family.

“d’ya think dutch will banish me from the camp if i punch micah in the face?” maybe she’s a little rude to just sit down next to arthur without even asking him if she could join him, but it’s late and mostly everyone is asleep or getting ready to sleep. micah has been grinding on her nerves all day, calling her names and not letting her work in peace. it’s like he’s trying to push her to the edge, trying to make her go off on him. and she’s getting there-- she’s never been a patient woman, especially not when it comes to ignorant bastards like him. there’s a scowl on her face as she sharpens her knife, briefly glancing over at arthur. he looks tired, but not as tired as she’s seen him before. “it’d be more satisfyin’ to see you punch him. i think you’d be able to break his entire face.” she cracks a smile now, clearly entertained by the image. // @vaagus
The still, thick air almost seemed CHOKING in the sun, the normally unphased hunter having a second glance at the gunslinger sat up in the shade against a boulder. He certainly had the right idea.
Perhaps he was doodling, taking a siesta- Charles normally could care less, walking by with a wave, but given he was SHIRTLESS, he was more hell-bent on trying to find some privacy. He assumed the woods surrounding camp would at least offer some solitude, but he had neglected to notice Arthur potentially lounging about with the same idea.
Part of him seemed uncharacteristically hurried, the shirt held within his grasp found STAINED with crimson upon closer inspection, the man’s left side almost GUARDED as he ensured to face away from the outlaw. He tried his best, but Charles was no fool, only hoping Arthur was half awake as he passed by, an odd LIMP to his gait.

🌻 - The first ever game I remember playing was Running Wild for the PS1. I mostly remember a lava level and how square the characters were. My favorite was the zebra. lol Though, S/ly Cooper was probably the first game series I played through majorly.
🌻 - Something about snow freaks me out. It’s the silence, you can hear nothing but yourself and walking around without music or something in the middle of winter just leaves me feeling very strange. lol
🌻 - One of my dogs, Buddy, gave me a fat lip once because he got excited about getting invited up to sit with me and he charged and headbutted me in the mouth. He’s barely up to my calf but he will take you out if you get him going.
🌻 - I would give anything to move out of western Canada, I can’t stand living here.

The whole situation didn’t feel real.
After Kieran had shown up back at camp, HOLDING HIS OWN HEAD, the gunfight that followed felt like some fever dream. Still kind of did, much as they were all now working on clearing out the mess the O’Driscolls had left in their wake, nobody dead outside of that poor Kieran, Arthur’s mind lingering on that but not quite wanting to give it much thought in the moment. He wandered back into Shady Belle, taking account of who he could see before--Issac. He remembered he had passed him upstairs on his way to Dutch before this whole thing happened, Arthur quickly climbing the stairs toward his room. They hadn’t been too interested in getting at whoever would be on the top floor, as far as he knew, but Arthur couldn’t help the slight DROP in his stomach until he was able to push open the door and see Issac himself.
He let out a slow exhale at his questions, mostly in relief and partly from exhaustion as the reality of the situation was setting.
“They’re gone…” he started, touching the side of his head a moment as he looked him over, “You’re okay? Y’ ain’t hurt none?”
