“Give me the remote,” Loz says after collapsing onto the couch between Roxas and Vaan. His hand outstretched in Vaan’s direction with a clear expectation the remote will just be handed over.  

Roxas shifts over slightly if only to avoid being squished up against his older brother. He gives Loz a kick as he does to show his displeasure and quickly dodges the swipe it earns him.  

“Why would I do that?” Vaan asks, holding the remote closer to himself.  

“Because I am older and told you to,” Loz argues. Because he’s an idiot that actually thinks that’s going to work on Vaan.  

“What does you being older have to do with it?” Vaan asks.  

“You’re meant to respect your elders,” Loz says as if he’s reminding them of an obvious rule they must all live by and not him making an excuse to be an asshole to them like usual. 

“Elders doesn’t include shitty older brothers.” Roxas pokes at Loz with his foot because he knows it will piss him off. “Or are you just telling us you’re getting old Loz?”  

“You stay out of this.” Loz manages to grab Roxas’ leg before Roxas can get it out of range again. And, because he’s a strong asshole, once he has it in his grip there isn’t anything Roxas can do to stop him being thrown from the couch.  

Roxas lands on the floor with nothing injured other than his pride. By the time he’s back on his feet Loz has rounded back onto Vaan and Vaan moved to be crouched on the armrest of the couch.  

“Give me the remote little brother,” Loz says, sounding exactly as threatening as a six-and-a-half foot alpha can be. Even if they all know he isn’t the best fighter amongst them.  

“Come and get it then,” Vaan challenges. He had learned from Roxas’ blunder and took off in a sprint before Loz could grab him. The remote shoved into the waistband of his pants.  

Roxas would follow to help but the TV was on the channel he wanted to watch and he was sure Vaan had it under control.

Going through my second run with ffxii. My first run was story oriented so I haven't done any side quests but this time I will try to aim for the 100%.

At the moment I'm at the Barheim Passage, I wish there was some mod where the characters interact during battle or exploration. It would be so much fun to hear their voice and explore their interactions.
