Fandom: The Legend Of Korra
Summary: Vaatu has found himself watching the young Water tribe Avatar, and his intrigue soon turned into lust. The Dark Spirit created a plan to own the young girl, and eventually, she gave herself to him, in an attempt to save her world. After finally possessing her, the source of evil in the world discovered that light is not only carried by his mortal enemy, Raava.
He called out to her name, kissing her temple lovingly in an attempt to wake her up.
The young girl groaned in response, getting into fetal position, pulling the covers closer.
"Korra, love. It’s time to wake up, come on…" Vaatu said, brushing her hair back.
"I am awake.." she responded groggily
The Spirit chuckled lightly. “Well then get out of bed..”
"Korra, come on. You need to get out of bed." He said, shaking her slightly.
His tone dropped an octave, turning dangerous.
"Vaatu I already said I am not getting out of bed. I don’t want to leave. I don’t want to go with you. I just want to stay in bed…"
"We’ve talked about this, and we’ve stablished that you’ll come with me wherever I need to go. You won’t be staying here."
She opened her eyes and looked at him. “Koh wont-
"Koh is a traitor. A back-stabbing Spirit. You think I am going to let you stay under his watch without my protection."
"Vaatu I don’t feel well.." she whined.
The Spirit frowned for a second, thinking that she was just being spoiled. Just like a little kid who would tell their mother that they won’t go to the morning lessons because they don’t feel well.
However, the Spirit acknowledged the dark bags under her eyes.
He wondered when had those showed up. She didn’t had them last night.
"Did you slept at all last night?" he asked.
"No…" she replied honestly. "I felt uncomfortable, uneasy. I just couldn’t sleep. I fell asleep like an hour ago…"
"Why didn’t you told me?" he asked, allowing her to use his arm as a pillow.
"I didn’t wanted to bother you..
"Sweetheart you would never bother me…" he kissed her brow and flinched back slightly, noticing she was awfully warm. "I think you might have a slight fever.."
How was this even possible? They were in the Spirit World for fuck sakes!
How could she become sick?
Vaatu sighed in defeat, knowing that she had to stay in bed.
They were in trouble. Korra needed help.
The mere thought of sending her back made him cringe.
He would never let her leave. She belonged to him, and only him.
"Why don’t you go back to sleep?" he asked.
"Would you stay with me?"
The Dark Spirit wrapped his arms around her, and kissed the back of her neck. “Forever and always..”
"…Forever an always.." she replied, tattoos glowing slightly with a crimson light.
Vaatu realized that her breath become slower; she had fallen asleep.
He carefully slid out of bed, not wanting to wake her up, and exited the small realm he had created for them.
Vaatu took his Spirit form, heading towards the keeper’s home. “Koh?” he called out.
The face-stealer lurked out of the shadows to meet the source of evil in the world. “You called, My Lord?”
Koh had been rebellious at first. When Vaatu arrived with Korra into his realm the Spirit was ready to take her face and laugh it out. However the dark spectrum wouldn’t allow it. The former Avatar was wearing a Burqa-like attire, protecting her face from the Face-Stealer. Kurruk’s enemy refused to help Vaatu by giving them asylum; bad choice. He brought Vaatu’s wrath upon him, he had taken all of Koh’s faces away from him, and threatened to to turn him to lock him away for eternity….or worst…
Obviously Koh began cooperating, and allowed Vaatu to create another home for Korra and himself, keeping him as a guardian; anybody who dared to look for Korra would have their faces stolen.
"I must go to the human World. Korra is sick. She nees medicine."
"These are the consequences of keeping the Avatar in the Spirit World.." The Face-Stealer replied.
"Do not push your luck, Koh. Or I will hand you myself to Kurruk!"
Vaatu too had fred Umi, Kurruk’s beloved girl. Obviously the water tribe Avatar had no reason to forgive Koh’s life, now that Umi was back on his arms.
The face-stealer fell silent. “I apologize, my lord.”
"I’ll let it pass this time. Now, you better watch after Korra. If anyone dares to approach her, you know what to do…"
"And, If Raava comes around?"
"She won’t. She’s too shallow to realize…I’ll be back before Sunset. Watch after her.."
The dark Spirit exited Koh’s realm, and headed towards the open Portal, back into the human world.”
Koh watched Vaatu leave, before heading inside his realm.
The dark spirit would murder him knew about this.
Koh creeped around through the walls and ceiling, heading towards their room, where Korra slept.
He heard the Polar Bear Dog growl as he lurked into the room, and stopped his tracks. He was aching to steal her face, to take possession of that furry frown. However, the centipede knew he couldn’t steal the animal’s face; it wasn’t real. It was a Spirit, another one of Vaatu’s creations. Besides, if he stole Naga’s face Vaatu would acknowledge that he was in their room; too dangerous to let it happen.
"Naga…Please..Hush.." the young girl said tiredly.
The animal fell silent and went back to resting her head on her pawns, still glaring up at him.
"The Avatar didn’t slept at all?"
Her eyes snapped open. She recognized that voice, instead of sitting up, looking for Koh, she hid under the covers.
"Relax Avatar I mean no harm to you.."
"Why you keep calling me Avatar?" she asked, lowering the covers to a certain point, allowing him to see her big, blue eyes.
"Because that is who you are…"
"I don’t know what you are talking about…I am not the Avatar…I don’t even know what that is….."
"I am Vaatu’s maiden. That is who and what I am…"
"Maiden? More like slave…"
"Can’t you see? Everything is a lie. Every single one of the words that came out of his mouth are filthy lies."
"You are the one that’s lying! Vaatu saved me! He loves me!"
"Loves you? He loves power…And himself, there’s nothing outside that…"
"That’s not true!!" she snapped, sitting up on the bed and glaring at Koh
"But of course it is…why do you think that he has fallen so low, asking me to protect you."
"Right…he forced me to protect you.."
"He protected me from you when you wanted to steal my face. He has given me love and protection for the last seventeen years; when my own kind tried to eliminate me after five seconds!"
"Yes, it is….it’s all a lie.."
"GET OUT! GET OUT OF MY ROOM!" she growled, jumping out of bed. But as soon as her feet made contact with the floor, her knees buckled, her vision became blurry…
That was the first time in a hundred-thousand and thirty five years that Koh actually took human form again. He caught her on his arms before she could hit the ground.
"Avatar? Avatar look at me"
She was searching for him with her eyes, but she couldn’t find him.
"What has he done to you?" he asked, helping her to the bed.
In the name of everything that was Holy…What was wrong with this girl?
In all of his years (which were too many to even count them) he had never seen something like this. Not even when he brought Umi to the Spirit World she had such a bad reaction.
But that was a different situation…
He hadn’t bond with Umi. And he certainly hadn’t slept with her.
"Korra…My name is Korra.."
"Korra then….when was the last time that you were with Vaatu?"
"What kind of question is that?" she asked groggily.
The Spirit tried to sense any type of strange energy flowing through her body.
He found dark energy attached to her soul. It was obvious he would find that.
But he found something else…
That energy was changing.
The darkness was turning into light….
Was this the cause of her illness?
He had studied humans for a good bit of his life. And sometimes when there was Spiritual struggle their bodies manifested their war..
…There was something else inside of her…
Before he could detect what was it, he felt Vaatu’s dark presence approaching the realm.
"Korra…" she corrected again
"Korra…I must go now. Do not tell Vaatu about any of this.."
"Why would I protect you?" she asked,
"Because I can give you valuable information…"
She closed her eyes, thinking about his offer..
"Fine.." she said. "Just let me rest…
The Spirit changed back into his animal-like shape, and creeped back to his cave.
Korra got under the covers and got in fetal position.
"Ey…" Vaatu said, coming inside the room. "Slept at all?"
"Not really…" she replied sitting up on the bed.
Vaatu sat on the edge of the bed and reached up to touch her forehead. “You are still quite warm…”
Korra leaned into his touch. “I’ll be fine…”
"I brought something to make you feel better…" he said, pulling out a Water bag. "Drink this.."
"What is it?" she asked taking the Water bag from him.
She sighed and did as she was told, drinking all of the contain in the bag.
"You’ll stay with me, right?" she asked, laying back.
He allowed her to rest her head on his chest, while he wrapped his arms around her, and closed his eyes
That warm, pleasant sensation inside his chest…
"So you do speak the truth after all…" Koh whispered softly, watching them from a safe distance.
As Sun rays hit Korra’s face she smiled.
Whatever was in that bag had truly helped her.
The young girl kissed Vaatu’s cheek, softly. “Morning, love..”
Korra tried to slid out of bed, but the Dark Spirit wouldn’t allow her to do such a thing.
"No thank you.." he teased.
"Vaatu come on!" she giggled.
"Alright, fine…" he said, allowing her to get out of bed.
Korra sat in front of the hairdresser and began brushing her hair, untangling the knots.
The Spirit watched her brush her hair, he smiled and closed his eyes.
She felt odd, terribly odd. Korra placed down the carved comb and stood up, looking into the mirror. She searched for any strange things on her body
She froze in place, skin crawling with goosebumps…
"Yes love?" he asked, eyes still closed.
"Vaatu is it possible for Spirits to have children?"
"What?" he asked, sitting up on the bed al looking at her, confusion blinding him.
"Answer the question. Please…"
"Then…Explain this…" she said, lifting her night gown, showing him the small bump on her abdomen.
