Boeckmans fifth at Tour's final stage. Ligthart and Feillu on the podium in Belgium.

Bianchi-supplied team Vacansoleil-DCM achieved two podiums and a Top-5 position between Belgium and France on Saturday, July 21st and Sunday, July 22nd. It was the second Top-5 placing for Vacansoleil-DCM and Bianchi at Grand Boucle: Kenny Robert Van Hummel on Oltre had clinched fourth in the stage sixth, on July 6th. Former Dutch champion Pim Ligthart went close to victory in the Tour of Wallonie’s Stage-1, taking second in the bunch sprint behind French Nacer Bounanni in Lessines (Belgium) on July 21st. The day after, French Romain Feillu sprinted for victories with Italians Napolitano and Appollonio, achieving the third position in the stage-2, 205.5 km from Binche to Mettet (Belgium). After two stages Ligthart is sixth and Feillu tenth in the GC.

A special Oltre at Tour de France to celebrate Coppi!

Vacansoleil-DCM's riders will ride on a limited edition of Bianchi model. Oltre frame for Vacansoleil-DCM will display on the headtube area a special logo, showing a yellow Bianchi jersey overlapping the pink one, designed by Bianchi to celebrate Fausto Coppi’s  double victory at Giro d’Italia and Tour de France in 1952

Juan Antonio Flecha, one of the World Tour's most combative riders has announced his retirement. The rider's palmares includes a Tour de France victory and three Paris-Roubaix podium spots will see his career come to an end with that of Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team. Vacansoleil-DCM rijdt volgend jaar op Bianchi. Het team gaat rijden op deze Bianchi Oltre. “Wij geloven dat Bianchi, met een geschiedenis van 126 jaar, een ongelofelijke partner zal zijn,” verklaarde teammanager Daan Luijkx. “ De Bianchi Oltre staat voor hoogwaardige technologie, vergaande productontwikkeling en niet te vergeten Italiaans design.”
