For whatever reason, weddings bring out the judginess in people and doubly so with Taylor because people think they know her better than herself lol

It’s weird because that hasn’t been my experience, but apparently this is what happens with celebrity weddings lol.

Anyway like I said, other than making a few lighthearted jokes at the news cycle, it’s not really an interesting topic to me that I care to discuss in this way. It’s not The Sims! This is Taylor’s real life! She’s gonna live her life and have the wedding of her dreams and if we’re lucky maybe she’ll share some photos of it and we’ll all get to wish her well through our phones because we know how meaningful this is to her because we’ve listened to her heartbreak and triumph over the years in her music.

People forget that Taylor and Travis will have a ton of middle class people attend their wedding, and these folks might be more inclined to have a quick long weekend to NYC instead of a full week in Europe. Like ya it would be cool if she got married on Lake Como, but they’re thinking about the regular people that they invited that are traveling form mid size American cities (whereas there are direct flights from London to Palermo in Dua’s case). Also, New York is a special place for them.

I’m not directing this at you anon, but I just don’t understand thinking this deeply about it?

When it started becoming clear they were having a huge wedding, I figured it was most likely going to be in or near a major city like NY (or LA) just because of the logistics of accommodations and flights and whatnot for that many people. So like, I assume planning was less about what was feasible for their normie family and friends and more what place could handle hundreds of people descending upon it for a weekend and Taylor’s very specific security needs. (I think security for her and their guests is probably the primary consideration of any major event.)

And given that paps managed to get pictures of her and Travis literally inside their rental house in Como, I think any kind of large estate somewhere would probably never have been that feasible. Too many people involved in too many logistics and needing to find room for that many people, idk.

But like I said, this is the most I’ve put thought into it and I just don’t think there’s any point in thinking hard about it. Four weeks from now we’ll probably know a lot more, possibly from the horse’s mouth! Until then, I’m just happy for Taylor and Travis 🤷🏻‍♀️

We didn’t really get pap pics from Selena’s and my assumption is that their wedding would be similar…basically under cover of tents or similar. I do think at a certain point any wedding starts to feel less like it’s about a wedding and more like it’s an affair of state eg royal weddings. At the end of the day though it’s their wedding, and I hope they’re having the wedding they want

That’s the thing though, you said it in your last sentence: it’s their wedding, and they’re gonna do what they want and that will be special to them because it’s how they want it🤷🏻‍♀️ I certainly wouldn’t dream of having 1200 people at my own wedding, or having it at a convention centre, but that’s just it, it’s not my wedding lol. It’s going to be beautiful and meaningful to them no matter what they do, so I don’t really get the point of jumping to conclusions about what it may or may not look like or judging them for it. This is why speculation is pointless to me.

And to your point about Selena… I also don’t get the difference functionally between her holding her wedding inside tents and Taylor allegedly holding hers inside an event space. It’s the same concept—they’re building their own personalized venue from the ground up to measure. Selena’s wedding may have been on an estate, but the entire thing happened indoors (in tents) for the same reason Taylor’s wedding is indoors. Selena wasn’t making use of the coastal views any more than Taylor will the cityscape wherever she holds hers. Paps didn’t get pictures of Selena’s because everything was behind closed doors (figuratively speaking), which will be the same for Taylor. Safety wise, if they were to hold it in a venue like this, holding it indoors in a space already built for it I’m sure is also far easier to plan for when the bride and possibly even some guests need presidential-level security.

Besides, as plenty of people have mentioned, their wedding planner seems to specialize in large scale events like this, and there are plenty of examples on his Instagram page of him creating warm spaces out of nothing. (Including a college basketball court.)

Taylor and Travis evidently want to have an absolute raging barn burner of a party for the ages surrounded by tons of people, so good for them! It won’t feel like a state affair to them because they’re going to make it happen the way they want. Again, I certainly would not want an event that big myself, but I am not them. Besides, plenty of people and plenty of cultures regularly have weddings with huge guest lists like that, so the only difference are the names attached here.

I have no doubt that they will have moments that are special and intimate in their wedding. And for everything else there will be the world’s most banging dance floor 🤷🏻‍♀️

But again. This is all hearsay and we don’t even know where it’s happening. Just that it’s happening somewhere behind closed doors lol.
