TODAY'S PHOTO

Down the black-tarred hallway she walked As if floating in a dream. Towards the bright red light that shined With a dull and sinister gleam. Her mind fought hard to tear through the fog That had clouded her thoughts so true. How had she arrived in this darkness, Where towards the light she flew? Hands glanced softly upon doors she passed Creaking loudly in the hallway silent. Eyes peered out into those open rooms Of each she found held vacant. Closer she came to the light that waited Feet moving of their own volition. And with each step, the fear inside her grew As did her own ambition. For within that light sits power infinite For those who toss off fate. And each moment of life is but an empty room On the path to power most great.
