Quantum Weirdness and Hitchhikers
I was just reading an article about quantum mechanics on Wikipedia when I ran into this gold nugget.
According to quantum mechanics, the vacuum state is not truly empty but instead contains fleeting electromagnetic waves and particles that pop into and out of existence
Oddly enough this reminded me of Douglas Adams book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the below scene from the movie. Physics can be just as poetic as any art IMHO.
