"Vaderism"
"You are mine to control!" the King yelled. "I am my own person." the Soldier responded. "Your weapons belong to me!" His Majesty howled. "My weapons are not myself." the Soldier noted. "Your men follow my commands!" the King screamed. "Only after they are spoken by me." the Soldier answered. "You. Are. A. Soldier." the King snarled. "Yes. I. am." the Soldier smiled, tossing his blade to the ground. "But not yours."
I've always been a fan of "Darth Vader" characters: Usually the right hand of the major bad guys, always doing evil things and seemingly not having a heart, but in the end doing one thing that ends up helping the good guys win the day. But I'm not sure if I've ever seen a book written from that guy's P.O.V, watching as his path slowly takes him down a darker and darker road, a sudden realization or even making him finally see the light, and in the end tipping the scales by joining the "good guys" or just by not being there for the final fight/doing what's exampled above and abandoning the antagonist at his moment of need.
If anyone's read a book like that, please steer me in it's direction, but in the end I'm thinking of writing a story like this.
