There is that scene in Emipre Strikes Back where Chewie starts a fight trying to free Han. Chaos insues before Han talks Chewie down. Then this happens:

Its the part that follows....

There. That.

She senses something. This scene has haunted me forever. I thought it was fear and for sure hatred. Or that she sense he's true target it Luke. But he didn't have to stop Boba blast. He doesn't care about Han.

And for bait he only needs one of them alive. Or maybe not any of them Luke would come for them either way.

“I never knew my biological father,” she tells Luke. Leia glances at his too-blue eyes and has to look away, his goodness blinds if you look at him too long. "But I know that he wasn't good."

"What makes you say that? If he's your father then he must have been." The laughter in this voice dies swiftly when she doesn't join in as she usually would. She hates that she did that, that she sucked the light out of him with the starving darkness that encompasses her now.

"I know because there's times I feel strange. Hungry and restless and angry. So very angry like there's poison boiling underneath my skin. It feels like a part of me, like I must have been born with it".

Or of it, she doesn’t say.

Luke softly touches her hand where she didn't notice her bloodless knuckles or her nails cutting into her palms. "My real mother and father were never like that you know? They were calm and understanding. My biological mother, what I remember of her, was kind. Sad."

She looks up at Luke through tears and into the beaming blue of his eyes. His handsome features full of sympathy and it's hard to tell if the tears are burning her eyes or if staring at Luke straight on is.

"You're not a bad person Leia. What the empire has done, what they continue to do? They're the ones that are evil. You're not wrong to be angry with them." He pulls her into a hug and it's a relief to close her eyes and sit in the darkness and his embrace. "We will defeat them Leia, don't lose hope. We'll get justice and free everyone."

But she knows that she doesn't just want freedom from the empire, she wants revenge. She wants them to choke, to scream, to beg her for mercy. The truth of it makes her feel her father even more, like the squeeze of a phantom hand on her shoulder.

I've been re-reading this fic and I like it so much that I wanted to translate it so the rest of you can read it <3 I'm in my little Luke-Leia-Vader era and I'm still writing about them. Hope you like it as well.

What are your top 3, top 5, or top 10 ships today. And (if you want) why?

Top Five (5) Ships (In no order at all):

🔞⚠️Also warning I like alot of darkships and stuff that will be consider prombles. But they aren't mine to worry about!!⚠️🔞

1. Bellamort

The Why's: Two interesting characters, both have a very intense relationship in canon as well as a interesting one in fanon. Two hot people. Both are consider villians.

My Two cents: One I like how each brings out the better (or worse) of the other. Voldemort gives Bella a direction and passion for all her talent. While Bella gives Voldemort what he sorely lacks, someone who actually likes him. Real loyalty and a sense of family. Also despite being master and servant they are on equal footing. My takes: I've written fanfics for them, I've role-played one of the pair. I wish I came up with more ideas around them. When I do they seem so abstract (in terms of fanfic stories) One fic I did of them trapped in a void having to work out their fears and issues together. The other was both of them in Hogwarts at the same time dealing with feelings of attraction. Hardly a sweeping epic.

2. Vader Leia

The Why's: Let me list all the reasons. Enemies to Lovers, Greek tragedy, red string of fate but not for the reason either thinks. Vader actually taking Leia serious unlike most others. Seeing past her age and title knowing women like her. The obession and posession. etc. My Two Cents: Honestly unlike Harrymort I often seen the power shift between them. Vader will be the one with control then Leia. The power of brutal strength verse holding the emotional cards. Leia isn't a push over either. She'll go toe to toe with him. Resists him and his force powers. She also is the ghost of Padme. She would remind him of her. In all things and that leaves him confused and likely upset. While Leia on the other hand might go many different directions.

My Take: Sadly this is such a small pairing. In terms I seem to be the only author on ao3 who has done more then three fics with them. I try to make as much, as I have so much stuff to explore, but it often feels like shouting into a void. But I will do happily.

3. Harrymort:

The Why's: Enemies to Lovers, soul mated, fated, the many questions around choice or a higher powers will. Expanding on what it is to surive and push through hell vs fight or bidding your time.

My Two Cents: This was my first canon characters shipped together. While they fall into my favoirte type of ship enemies and lovers, I do like the "soul mate" bit with Voldemorts soul being apart of Harry. I doubt the author meant that to be allude to anything like this but its really funny. My Take: Because it was my first I have alot of works around them. Not just all dark, kidnapped fics. There are many more that never saw the light of day that explores Harry taking back his power with love. And then the whole why are these two fated? Is it some sort of soul contract? Sadly I don't do much for them these days but I still like this ship.

4. Merula and FMC (female main character)

The Why's: Rivals to friends to lovers, ranges from world changing to slice of life drama, cute expressions of feelings to more darker takes.

My Two Cents: Each author has different takes on the FMC, be it their own selfcerts into the character or just an OC each brings something new to the ship. One thing that stays the same is Merula. And I love how much more of a 3d person she is in the story then the normal bullies we get in canon. It shows how isolated and just striving for belonging Merula wants and needs.

My Take: Because the ship is a main character who the player controls this ship is my frist dive into xreader. Which is a hell of a hard genre to do! I don't care how you feel about xreader its hard to write. But dang it I love writing Merula. She is so much fun. From the typical slytherin to just a girl hiding her crush with smart assary. XD

5. Reylo (My most hated pair)

The Why's: Enemies to lovers, fated, red thread of fate, twins in the force, oh god all of it. I swear the two hit it off Since the first "What girl?"

My Two Cents: Honestly I do not understand why this ship gets the hate it does. (Like I ship age gaps, incest etc!!!!) But THIS? However this canon ship does enemies to lovers the best. I tried to read the trope but others get it so wrong. They do hate each other they have tried to kill the other but they get pulled back in. They understand the other very well and on Rey's side that scares her. They push and pull the other to their side. And in the end the need for the other brings Ben to the light side. It explains the balance of light and dark side needing balance and this ship does it so well.

My Take: I ship it since the first movie came out. Made a bunch of art work but also fanfic's. Got to actually try modern au with them because their push and pull works in any setting. And I think unlike other ships where I can mostly writing from one character pov better and most often, I can switch from Kylo's to Rey's very easy. In Bellamort I mostly see through Voldemort's pov, with Vader Leia is mainly from Leia's, and Harrymort its stronger with Harry's. This pair has a balance with me too. So yeah the force ships it through me. LOL

Bonus: Scorpius and Albus= Cute, what drarry wants to be. Delphi and Albus = I think to balance Harrymort in a way. Hannibal Lector and Mischa Lector= Honestly this one is a odd one, I only write them if Mischa had lived and grown to adulthood, I don't know why, it might because he ate her first.?? Chibi Usa/ Hotoru = A childhood ship before I knew what ship was or knew where to find it.
