For those of you who've been following vaein zine, I must apologise because after a good 6 months of updating once every day and sharing a steady stream of content I lapsed and haven't done so in about a week an a half. I'm a horrible editor.
This has been mainly due to my incredibly busy day-to-day life, making music, doing choir/singing, writing for other things, finishing exams, roller derby, work, and volunteering....there's a lot happening and I've felt very over-stressed at the moment (which you may have picked up on that post I made crying on the floor next to my dog.) This is why I decided to step back from everything for a little bit and do absolutely nothing as a way to recharge myself and gather my mental health back to a place I feel comfortable diving back in again.
The usual stream of updating and working on the physical zine will begin again on sunday, but until then, I encourage you to submit! If you'd like to become a regular contributor, send a profile of yourself in a few paragraphs and your photo to the "submit" box of the zine. If you'd just like to submit something one off, do the same thing. The current theme at the moment is "heroes" and the next one is "the switch" (which touches on sharing perspectives, unexpected shifts in power, seeing things in a different way than we perceive them to be in society, and multiple references to the lindsay lohan version of freaky friday.)
I definitely need more enthusiastic writers and artists at the moment, so please come and share.
