Bollywood Review: Jewel Thief
Jewel Thief is a thriller with Dev Anand, Ashok Kumar and Vaijantimala in the lead roles. It is, obviously, about a jewel thief and who it is. It keeps you guessing until the end. This movie was released in 1967 but its one of those movies you can watch again and again.
The songs in this movie are awesome. Genius. I love all of the songs and even if you don't watch the movie, listen to the songs. They are so good and you won't regret it.
Dev Anand is pure genius. The man deserves all the awards. Ashok Kumar is also very good. Vaijantimala didn't have much to do in the middle but whatever character she has, she plays it well. Helen and the rest of the females are good but there aren't many girls that shine out other than Vaijantimala. I loved how it was a multi-starrer cast so the Jewel Thief could be any one of them.
This movie is one of the best Hindi thrillers (aside from Teesri Manzil) and it is definitely worth watching. You will become a fan of Dev Anand in one movie... I know I did.
