🌲 Pragma - During the last scene you wrote/thought of with your character, who have they loved the longest? By the time they pass on, does that person change?

Mania? For Damian? Juicy, juicy : ) 

I could easily say Sal cause Sal isn’t exactly the best to him, but they’re brothers so... they get a pass on that. They’ve always had affection. So, for this answer, I have to say... 

Hands down, Kanou ( @vaingoria​ ). And it surprised me! Because Damian really hated him at first. And for good reason, he was brutally experimented on for months in Kanou’s laboratories after their initial meeting. It was after his release where the two were in contact (tho Damian was trying to avoid him) and Kanou started treating him with a false kindness, Damian’s opinion started to falter. 

Let me tell you, Damian is not capable of being angry for long, he does not have a hateful bone in his body. Being treated with kindness and familiarity, Damian started to think, well, he couldn’t have been that bad? And started trying to justify things in his head internally. After a while, this eventually turned into some form of romantic feelings for him. 

Man, I put off changing his romantic orientation for like a month because he was supposed 100% aromantic but then he asked if Kanou thought he was crazy and got ‘i think you’re amazing’ in return and it forced my hand. Bruh, 4 words made Damian fall fast and hard. This man has never made a good decision in his life. 

I do think a lot of it is trauma response mixed in there, though, a sort of ‘if i behave i wont get hurt again’ which just. Is not working. It never works in abusive relationships. And also Damian spirals every time he tries to talk to Kanou, last time was near valentine’s day and he had a breakdown. 

It’s... definitely an interesting dynamic and i look forward to seeing where it goes now that Beau’s been thrown into the mix. 

..Which leads me to Pragma! 

In his current life, Damian has loved his brothers the longest - even though Beau and him haven’t been on good terms since they were children. No matter what I write, this will never change, since Damian values his family above all else. I do think by the time Damian passes, he will have had a pretty profound impact on Beau, since he was the culmination of all of his mistakes (i.e. not treating him well and abandoning him when he needed it the most.)

Sal... I do think Damian has already had an impact on Sal, but for the worst. Damian’s clinginess has made Sal want to distance himself from everyone to avoid feeling trapped again. 

Damian’s love is... suffocating.

god i need to do a timeline of the development from discord across multiple servers tbh but a quick rundown of the current timeline I’m following for their main interactions: 

-Beau awakens, somehow ends up in the same world as Sal and Damian.

-A brief conversation on a chat with Kanou Kisaragi alerts him to the fact Damian is alive. The address of Kanou’s office is given.

-After repeatedly failing to catch Damian at the office, Beau has Haruka Nanase pass on the message to Damian that they need to talk.

-All three siblings reunite.

-Beau, after observing Damian after a recent breakup, decides to keep an eye on his mental state. 

-After an outburst where Damian pretty much kidnapped his ex-girlfriend Ariana’s potential new boyfriend, Beau called a mental institution geared toward supernatural entities for a wellness check. A supernatural hunter is sent.

-After realizing both of his brothers think he’s crazy, Damian vents to Kanou, further isolating him from... everyone, mentally.

-Damian is caught by the supernatural hunter and taken in for treatment.

-After going to Damian’s apartment to pick up his stuff, Beau has a tense encounter with Kanou. The apartment is burnt down.

Undiagnosed, but officially Damian has: C-PTSD, severe depression, and schizophrenia comorbid with antisocial personality disorder. After leaving the institution, he will be living with Beau.

There were quite a few different factors contributing to it... But he doubted Kanou was any good influence, if the past week was any indicator.
