🧣 Valentines Day Special: Aizawa x Reader

[Aizawa completely forgets about Valentines Day and makes up for it in his own  kind of way]

Aizawa looked at his phone in confusion, unsure why Yamada kept texting him such odd things. 

Are you excited for today?

I bet you guys are going to have fun!

What did you get for her?

It better be good! 

He honestly had no idea what he was going on about, pocketing his phone and forgetting about it, putting his phone on silent as he focused back on his teachings, making sure his students were paying attention, having to yank Mineta awake as the boy was nodding off again.

He went about his day as normal, finishing classes and heading to his desk with the other teachers to grade papers and check emails. He scrolled through his inbox, answering inquiries and sending off paperwork before he felt hands on his shoulders and a blonde haired man was grinning like an idiot.

“Heeeeeeey Eraser!” he said and Aizawa groaned inwardly, shifting his eyes to look at the man as he prattled on.”You ready for tonight? Got a reservation? Flowers? Chocolates? Gimme the details so I can tell you how to do it better!” he insisted.

Aizawa looked at him in complete and utter confusion. “Why do you keep asking that?” He asked, crossing his arms with a sigh. “You’ve been blowing my phone up all day and I don't have the slightest idea what your talking about.” he said making Yamada look at him in complete and utter disbelief. 

“Shouta...you know it's Valentines Day right?” He said carefully making Aizawa finally take a look around the office, seeing red heart balloons and chocolates and decorations in the office. It was then that he finally realized, even though the decorations had been up all month, what day it was. 

“You...did get y/n a gift right?” Yamada asked and Aizawa turned back to his desk, logging off his computer before standing up. 

“...no, I didn't.” Aizawa said honestly making Yamada exclaim at him, waving his arms around in an exasperated fashion. 

“Shota for goodness sake do you notice anything?!” he insisted, following his best friend as he made his way out towards the schools entrance. “It's Valentines Day today, everywhere is going to be sold out or closed!” Yamada chattered but Aizawa just ignored him. 

Eventually Yamada gave up, letting Aizawa go do whatever he was going to. Aizawa went to a convenience store and picked up a few things, taking a while as it was super busy. He waited patiently, checking his phone to see a few messages from you. 

You never texted him while he was at work unless it was an emergency and you always asked how his day was first. He didn't realize it but he smiled softly to himself, paying for his things before stepping outside to message you back. 

I’m on my way home, bringing dinner too so don't worry

He walked the rest of the way home, unlocking the door to the apartment you shared when he didn't have to stay on campus and stepped in, kicking off his boots. Hearing him come in you quickly boxed up the chocolates you’d made and went to greet him with a happy smile.

“Hey you~!” You greeted him, making him look up with a smile, bags in one hand as he hung his scarf by the door, letting you greet him with a kiss on the cheek. “How was your day?” you asked and he nodded, gently squeezing your arm. 

“It was fine, same as always.” He assured you, smelling the baking of sweets and looking at you curiously. “Did you make something?” He asked and you grinned nodding. “I did~ I made you something~!” You insisted, taking his hand and leading him to the kitchen. He saw the cute little heart shaped box with the chocolates inside, giving a soft smile before feeling bad that he had forgotten. 

“Y/n, uh...I need to be honest about something.” He said, getting you to look at him curiously. 

“Whats wrong?” You asked, worried as he sat down at the table with you. He gave your hand a squeeze, setting the bags on the table. 

“I...didn't know it was Valentines Day...I forgot…” He admitted, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. “I got you some dinner and your favorite candy because Yamada reminded me...I’m really sorry...especially since you made something for me...I feel so bad…” He admitted, even blushing a little. 

But he was lucky to have someone like you who knew him so well. You gently took his face in your hands and smiled at him. “Shoto, you forgot your own birthday, do you really think I expected you to remember a holiday invented to sell chocolate?” You teased and he looked flustered. 

“I’m sorry…” He mumbled again and you smiled, kissing his nose. He gently pulled you close by the elbows, pressing his face to your neck. “I want to celebrate it...with you…” he admitted and you smiled gently, smoothing back his hair as he looked up at you. “I brought dinner.” He said again and you laughed. 

“Then lets celebrate, we can share the chocolate and candy, how does that sound?” You suggested and he gave a soft smile, nodding. 

“That sounds like an idea.” he agreed.

His optics dart around the dimly illuminated room. It’s Valentine’s day, and he is home before you are. He’d heard about this holiday and about what it entailed, and he honestly didn’t know what he wanted to happen. What if you didn’t want to celebrate it with him? Would that mean that you don’t care about him? That he isn’t good enough for you? And what if you do want to do something? He doesn’t have the foggiest clue about what you would want to do and how to act in turn.

His panic almost makes him redline as you open the door to the bedroom and peek through.

“Overlord?” You say quietly, stepping into the room. It has been a while since you last saw him so timid. Ever since you’d begun courting him, he was slowly but surely coming out of his shell, but today it seems like something is wrong. “Are you okay? Did something happen?” You approach the berth where he is curled up, one of your servos extended in an act of docility. He curls up further, tucking his knees close to his chest.

“It’s- I’m- Nothing... Nothing happened.” It takes him a little while to get out.

“Can I hold you?” You ask, prepared for him to say no, but he agrees. You climb onto the berth and sidle up next to him, leaning on him and wrapping your arms around his frame. You let your engine purr, knowing that it’s something that has worked to calm him in the past.

“Today is Valentine’s day.” He says softly. You nod against him.

“Did you want to do something for today, baby?” You ask. 

“Did you?” Overlord dodges the question, something you’ve grown accustomed to.

“Only if you did. I know you haven’t celebrated it before, so I didn’t want to try anything that might surprise you.” Your servo strokes his side as his optics finally meet yours. “We could just go out somewhere to eat. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, it could be a place we’ve been to before. Or we could just stay here and cuddle, I’m okay wit that, too.”

“Can- can we just stay?” He slowly starts to stretch his legs back out, uncurling. You nod and lay down with him. Maybe next year you’ll go out, but even if this is what you end up doing in all the Valentine’s days to come, you’ll be happy.
