A limited edition fragrance from Val Royeaux Parfum, in honor of @lycheecatee's birthday!
A tantalizing fragrance as fiery as its namesake, Reine du Feu opens with a flicker of Sichuan pepper atop a sensual blend of hibiscus and Damask rose. Royal jasmine intermingles with the intoxicating warmth of ambrette seed and tobacco, its sweet yet spicy allure reminiscent of the flames conjured to light a lover's cigarette. The tang of cherries and smoked sea salt rounds out this mesmerizing scent - fit for the queen of fire herself.
🔥TOP: Hibiscus, Damask Rose, Sichuan Pepper
🔥HEART: Royal Jasmine, Black Cherries, Tobacco
🔥BASE: Ambrette Seed, Smoked Sea Salt
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSE! 👑🔥💕🎂
I knew I wanted to make something fun for you for your birthday, and I was inspired by the recent 'OC Signature Scent' tag game going around. I immediately pictured Queenie in a luxury perfume ad in Warden Magazine, and when I was snooping around your tumblr profile for a photo of Queenie, I found this gorgeous piece of Queenie art you created that was just absolutely made for it. I hope HRH likes it!!!!! 💋
Taggin' pals to share your gorgeous Queenie art and to spread the birthday cheer! Happy birthday, sweet friend!! 💕🎂
Hey gang! Much love to my GOATS: @fenrelmercar @jenn2d2 and @davrinsleftpectoral for the tags!
So... Inquisition grabbed me by the neck again. It always does in January, like clockwork. Do I know why? No. Do I embrace it like an old friend? Yes. Always. God. DONT WORRY BULL I'M COMING HOME-
ahem.
But I was at work twenty minutes to lunchbreak when suddenly an old OC grabbed my chin and said "my turn." I'd like to introduce you to the many many times rebooted "Heron", also known as Reggie. Veilguard gave me an unexpected glimpse of a past I had already written for him (bizarre, I know) so I'd like to hit up a little miniseries of adventures between the events of Post-Trespasser and Veilguard with my boy and yet ANOTHER shameless self insert that has taken on a mind of their own so that I can lose myself in Thedas once more. I am so tired of 9 to 5. I am so tired of apartment. Let me have this.
Needless to say this is more than five sentences. You know the drill by now (sigh)
"Do you think the Empress will abdicate?"
"What?" Cillian tore his gaze from the blooming apple trees of the Summer Bazaar, blinking.
"I asked if you think Empress Celene will abdicate the throne. You know. Now that she's—" Heron, arm and arm with the scout, leaned in close with a conspiratorial whisper. "Aging."
Cillian snorted, swallowing a crooked smile as he turned his gaze from the glittering brown of the spy's.
"Oh come now, it wasn’t rhetorical. Honestly, Cillian, where's your head?"
"Sorry. No. After all of that?"
"All of that…?"
"The civil war, you idiot."
"Oh, that old thing? I very much doubt it would weigh on Her Highness' decision. Besides, with her significance to the Inquisition now entirely null-"
"Keep your voice down," Cillian hissed through gritted teeth, sliding a harried glance at the stalls and midday crowd milling around them. The brass Seeker eye and sword weighed heavy on the inside of his lapel, burning against his breast.
"Tsk! No one's listening," Heron said with a grin. "With no matter whether she lives or dies, now, it may even benefit us to… you know…"
"Replace her?" Cillian scoffed. "That's for greater minds than mine to ponder."
"You are common as mud, aren't you?" Heron leaned in close again as if to inspect Cillian's face for flaws as they walked between shady pillars and overflowing outdoor vases. "It's the commoners that decide these things. Violently, if pressed."
"Ugh— Your breath is terrible."
Heron pouted and stepped back. "It is not!" He breathed into his palm, scowling. "It's not. Which dracolisk peed in your porridge. You've been grumpy all morning!"
"You're common too." Cillian rested their hands on their belt, idly examining a shelf of glistening pomegranates.
"Well, yes, but I'm not poor. Thank goodness for that."
"Any longer you sell-swording, two timing bastard."
"Yes and I worked very hard to be called that."
******
They're friends and have been for years, don't let Cillian fool you lol
Thanks for the tag @riothag, @ashillayn and @fadetouchedlurker! It was super fun to peek at your works!
I am currently working on illustrations; so instead of a text fragment, have a sneak peek at the image that will accompany Chapter 19: Pamplemousse of Divergent Paths.
This is the interior of a lavish tavern in Culiere, on the outer districts of Val Royeaux, the setting for some of the plot in the chaper.
Blackwall gets to wear his fancy coat, visiting the big city! In truth, I grew tired of putting him in his usual gambeson again and again, and I reseve the right to dress up my characters like dolls. 😉
I will post complete illustrations soon!
I wish there was a way to tag all Solavellan and Dragon Age creators, no matter their medium! So I'll leave it as an open tag for all.
Remember what I said about how much more opulent Orlais looks compared to Fereldan?
Denerim (Fereldan)
Val Royeaux (Orlais)
And now Minrathous (Tevinter Imperium)
Is it any wonder the Vints always refer to the south as a barbaric place if this is what their capital looks like?
And this is Minrathous after a thousand years of decline. Imagine what the Imperium must have looked like in its prime. Imagine what Arlathan must have looked like!
This is the kind of heavy lore that makes me love Dragon Age.
