Out of the most popular SG-1 ships (canon + noncanon) is yout LEAST fav. Based on this poll by @velvetwar but ONLY SG-1 because im curious. Based on both Ao3 fic count and what i've noticed in the fandom. Feel free to leave your reasoning in the replies (but be RESPECTFUL)
Least favorite sg-1 ship that's popular
Sam/Jack [7,653 Fics]
Daniel/Jack [6,798 Fics]
Daniel/Vala [1,122 Fics]
Sam/Janet [690 Fics]
Sam/Jack and Vala/Daniel :3
MY BABIESSSSSSS!!!!
I can not tell you how happy your stargate art makes me!!
THANK YOUU :DD
So I have this headcanon about how things work out for SG1 after the show ends. I kept meaning to write a fic with ir but honestly never finished the bit I had (it wasn't good either so I left it on ff.net and didn't bring it over) but I decided I'd write some of the points of it here so...under a cut because of length. And spoilers for season 10 if you can spoil a show from 20 years ago. .
Jack and Sam get married and end up surprised by actual set of twins: Grace and Carter.
Daniel and Vala have 2 kids (no ones sure if they got legally married on Earth or just going on how often they accidently were married off world) named Nick and Mia.
Cameron and Carolyn have a son named Theo.
Nick is probably the most fleshed out character in my head. He's the oldest of the earth based kids (Tealc obviously had a kid on the show). He's named after his great grandfather (Middle name is Parker. Just sounded good). He looks like his dad but has Valas more social nature. He goes into medicine and has a flirty relationship with Grace.
Grace and Carter are 2 years younger then Nick, same age as Theo and a year or so older then Mia.
Carter and Theo have a band. Mia sometimes will lend a voice if they feel the song needs a female voice. However she is her father's daughter and spends most of her time nerding out as an anthropologist.
Nick, Mia and Grace (who is her mother's daughter and is a captian in thr Air force) work for thr Stargate program. Carter sometimes is there to help Nick with his research into genetic transfer of goauld abilities but Theo isn't involved at all.
Carter, Grace, Nick and Mia can use gould tech due to their heritage.
Vala had alot of anxiety during her pregnancy with Nick due to Adria (especially as it was a surprise). Finding out she was having a perfectly normal baby boy was a relief. Her pregnancy with Mia was planned and overall calmer. Mia however was a infant that drove her parents crazy while Nick was calmer. This all changed when puberty hit and he discovered girls.
Jack decided to become a stay at home dad after the twins were born because he was ready to retire anyway and also felt he should spend as much time with them while he was physically able to keep up with them.
Tealc is everyone's favorite Uncle.
Sam ends up in charge of the SGC. Vala ends up as an alien immigrantation specialist, effectively being a civilian second to Sam. Honestly, no one is quite sure what her actual job description is, but they are pretty sure it doesn't fit what she actually does.
Valas dad runs into Nick when he's off planet once and it's super awkward since he doesn't know he has grandkids and Vala didn't talk to Nick about him that much.
Daniel runs the Archelogy department and jack laughs every time he calls to complain about his daughter doing the same thing Daniel did when he first was with SG1.
All the former members of Sg1 are really happy to watch their kids go out and explore without the trauma they all went through.
Tealc never tells Vala about the time on the time ship. He does tell her eventually that everything happened the way it should have after she and Daniel get together and have Nick (going with the theory Vala lost a pregnancy during their time on the ship.).
I'm sorry--WHAT?!?!?! 🤯
What am I missing???😂 Is that in the books or something? The funny part is that the wikipedia article drops that and then never elaborates 😂 Skimming through, I never saw anything that referenced that again. Someone just casually said that Vala and Daniel are married. And Daniel Jackson's wikipedia page has Vala listed as his wife (see below).
I'm old, so I've made it through several of the mass exoduses from Fanfiction.net
But this time around, I may join the departing. I still love the old stories that are posted there. Some of my all-time favorite reads are there.
But posting my own stuff? Just not worth the influx of spammers. There are no real comments or feedback anymore. Just spammers.
Anyhow, my latest piece has been updated on Ao3. (A much superior site)

This has become my straight ships blog and I don't know how to feel about it...
Stargate SG-1 Season 10 episode 20
Very serious feels about it. Like. Very big very serious feels.
First off, the horror of being stuck in a time dilation and watching as people cope and fail to cope with it. That's just a horrible way to live the rest of life.
Secondly, the mix of hatred, disappointment, and unease at how Daniel exploded at Vala and made her cry and immediately switched into being in-love. I was angry when he was chewing her out for being exactly how she is, and she had no room to defend herself. He accused her repeatedly of being a slut toying with his feelings when it seems she's been nothing but honest. That was... harsh and not good.
Lastly, I cried a lot when they were all old. Seeing my heroes defeated in a whole new way was heartbreaking. They were not going to make it. They had finally encountered an enemy they could not win against and they accepted it. And when they defied the odds one last time they did not truly win because one of them lost all those years and two of them lost a relationship and another lost a life long dream and two more lost their patience in more ways than a few.
And as another point of sadness... Daniel and Vala had miscarriages. Probably more than enough to destroy their want of pregnancy because it hurt them so bad. I know it was only a flash during the montage but... that anguish is unmistakable. They had a child and they lost it. That was what gave me the most feelings.
