what kind of headphones do you use?
Hi! I use a couple pairs. For listening at home I use the open-back Sennheiser HD 650s. For when I’m commuting, I use the Bose QC35 IIs, which are noise canceling. Both are around-ear headphones, which are the only kind I’ll wear.
It’s worth mentioning that what sounds good to me may not sound as good to you. Some people really hate the EQ curve on Bose; it definitely colors the sound warmer and richer than it actually is. But to me, that’s ideal.
You should definitely shop around and give things a test run before deciding. If you mainly listen outside the home, nix anything open-back, because it lets noise both in and out (it’s the trade-off you get for better sound quality). On the other hand, if you listen to music mostly in private, open-back headphones are something you should definitely consider. And you don’t have to break the bank to get a good pair.
