Titia from GIANTS - Ghosts of winter,
Coming out August 24th, published by Dark Horse comics.
Kobolds! These were the new bestie-baddie of the Ghosts of Winter arc, and we wanted it to be contrary to Sheik, the previous "villain" monster; instead of a ginormous, unstoppable lone predator, we wanted a myriad of skittish vermin.
Of course, there's more to these creatures than the sheer number, as they are also a parasitic and manipulative species. As for the design, they are inspired by mole rats, giant entelodonts, and a mixture of different stink bugs.
Banquo was the largest monster in Crane City, but his enormous size didn't help this giant to survive an encounter with the most dangerous predator in town: humans.
Those colors in which Banquo is rendered aren't his natural skin coloration; instead, it is a painful byproduct of how the monster-hunter humans called Raptors destroy their victims using explosive ambernoir harpoons.
This monster is similar to Sheik and Wraith regarding his body structure, but he is less bulky and sports a pug-nosed skull.
For my return to Tumblr, I wanted to remind everybody of my latest works, these two graphic novels made with love, blood, and gargantuan monsters!
GIANTS and GIANTS: Ghosts of Winter are available wherever books are sold! Also, be sure to check the art blog of my brother Miguel! miguelvalderrama.tumblr.com
Profile sheets for the main monsters for the first GIANTS comic, our boys WRAITH and SHEIK!
More Wraith and Sheik! These were made for fun (and to see if I can make them possible someday...)
The tunnels of Surface City hold a few surprises... Cross-section concept to use for reference in the narrative progression of one of the key scenes of GIANTS: Ghosts of Winter.
