i did actually listen despite my intense chapo revulsion and while they spent some decent time on the issue, i believe it was the chapo guy who tried to make the issue of sexual harassment/assault all about how wealth corrupts.

I'm curious. What are the things you peeps find yourself writing again and again? Like, default sentences or themes that you find yourself coming back to every time you write, even if you don’t always keep it in the final fic?
yes!!! and there was another one that was like “the aclu loves the KKK....probably IS the KKK...........hmmm checkmate neoliberals.” it just makes me tired. i think there genuinely are young people who are forming a political conscience on this hellsite right now, and I wouldn’t blame them for being tempted to buy into that garbage!!!! no one wants to feel that they are on the same “side” as the KKK or nazis!!!! unless they have had PERSONAL RUN-INS with censorship as it metastasizes when institutionalized, young Americans are going to be tempted to associate the concept with whiny alt-righters.
it is hard on an emotional level to feel great about unconditionally supporting an organization that defended the KKK’s right to assemble. those are complexities that cannot be resolved to a COMPLETELY satisfying moral/emotional result. i get that. but it is just going to mean ANOTHER GENERATION of young, well-intentioned lefties selling out their own rights, empowering their opponents and fetishizing inaction in the name of hypermoral purity and i can’t BEAR IT!!!!!
also just incidentally, co-opting the phrase “critical thought” to mean THE OPPOSITE OF CRITICAL THOUGHT makes me feel CRAZY
