Hey Rings of Power fans, especially those who are likely to write fanfic I would like to take a moment to discuss the two Valendil problem.
Yes there’s two of them.
That’s the main thing. Valendil of the show played by Alex Tarrant is a new Amazon original character. I love him, and look forward to more from him. His tag on AO3 is Valendil (Rings of Power).
The there is an “older” Valendil, the first king of Anor. He is the fourth son of Isildur. His character tag is Valendil of Anor.
I’d like to keep them separate on principle bc the archive’s organization system is awesome and should be preserved.
Furthermore given the ship heavy mindset of fandom I think it is even more imperative we keep these two character tags distinct.
