Valentine’s Day Guide for Guys & Gals
Gals and Guys we just got through the cutest and the cringiest day of the year. Here is some tips to help you get through next year's Valentine’s Day.
Plan Plan Plan! - Yes it’s cool to be a spontaneous person and live life on the edge. However, February 14th is not a day to be spontaneous if you have a bae. Florists get crazy busy, restaurants reservations get booked up, sentimental gifts take time and thought, and cute cards don’t just write themselves.
Flowers! - ATTENTION MEN: all women love flowers, how can you not? They are so lovely! I beg, as a former florist employee, please, please, please order ahead of time. It’s super easy, just call or stop by. 1 - your florist will appreciate you a lot more, than other last minute walk ins. 2 - if you walk in the day of, your options are limited and no and they most likely are done doing deliveries due to insane amount of pre-existing orders. Food! - Whether you and your lover want to go to that the new trendy restaurant, like The Shed in Huntington NY, your old favorite italian place, or maybe you want to stay in and try that recipe for two. Whatever it is, still plan ahead. Make a reservation, make a grocery list, buy the wine on your way home from work the night before. No one wants to be stressed and hangry on Valentine’s day, trust me.
Gift Guide!- Some like to go big, some like to keep it simple. Whatever you decide to give to your valentine, make sure its sentimental. Give it some thought, value, time. Write a sappy love letter, draw a funny picture, get their favorite candy, heck buy that sparkly necklace from her favorite instagram jewelry account. Just think about it.
I like to think Valentine’s day is the celebration of love between people. Doesn’t have to be about the materialistic aspects. As long as your day/night together is special to you both and you express your appreciation of love to each other in some sweet way. Then, that’s quite alright in my book...but bring wine ;)
