👠 for a trend i hope dies out soon || meme
the ignoring of underused / older face claims. like i get that people steer towards their favorite fcs, that’s natural, but that doesn’t mean you have to ignore or give less effort to fcs you’ve never seen before / don’t care for. not all plots need to be about romance. there’s far more to a character’s development than who they sleep with. like don’t get me wrong, i love ships, but i’d get bored if that was the end of my character’s plots. i want enemies, i want friendships, i want old friends, i want friends turned into enemies, i want co workers that fight, i want it all because that’s how you shape a character.
i just miss the days when someone was able to throw up a couple of lines and the thread would eventually develop into a connection between two characters, naturally and unplanned. now it’s all about how much someone can write and how fancy you can make it. but writing three paragraphs doesn’t always equate to good writing and good character building.
anyway, that’s my hot take, and this is more than one trend tbh, but it’s morning so i have lots of thoughts.
