Soo haha, this is funny, you're gonna laugh!

So quite a while ago I had made this post asking if I should talk about my oc's, the votes said yes aaaaannddd I just never did lol.

HOWEVER I finally finished up a drawing of two of my oc's and now I'ma toss them at you cause I been way too long!

Based on some drawing templates I need to go find again.

And I think it's about to time to answer @hi-im-pluton 's question!

As I had answered previously, there's a whole lot that goes into this. In short, it's mostly got to do with their jobs.

Valeri, is a guard, or an occasional night/warrior if needed. So I wanted her outfit to be protective armor, while still being something she can move in. The way her clothes are designed also takes inspiration from native Americans culture, but that's most noticeable in her casual outfit (which I will also draw soon). Another big part to it, is that her outfit is ever so slightly designed out of spite. At the time I was incredibly frustrated by how women seemed to be s*xualized even on the battlefield in some media. Realistically warriors need to wear something that will protect them, not something that makes them appealing to look at.

So she wears chest, shoulder, arms, and knee armor. Her back is the only part of her body that is fully exposed, a reference to how roman soldiers didn't wear back armor so they could never turn their back to their enemies, or they'd be killed. Shes also got some spikes on her arms and shoulders, another weapons for fighting, it also maaayyy be a reference to her inability to let people be close to her.

The rest of her outfit is designed from simple materials, that are mostly uncolorful, save for her bright red shirt.

And now Caius! His also has to do with his job, though the outfit I have him in now is a more casual outfit. His job outfit looks something more like this very rough sketch

Which is designed to have a lot of coverage. This is because Caius is a environmental and exploration worker. He spends most of his time outdoors, collecting plants, farming and exploring for items lost or left behind by humans. Because of this he needs protection from the elements, particularly the sun and potentially poisonous plants or sharp objects.

Therefore, the layered bandages on his arms, leather gloves, thick patchwork pants and shawl.

Caius is also not one to be wasteful or indulgent with his money, so he tends to make his own clothes from things he finds or from old materials. Like his pants, made entirely out of old fabrics from different resources. He also isn't a fan of constraints or not being able to move freely or easily, so the shaw, though it provides good protection, is light weight and easy to move in, unlike most of his outfit.

That is why his outfit I first showed has no sleeves, tasseled shoes, and knee high pants, he's a fan of comfort and easy moving!

The colour for both of their outfits were also very specifically chosen to represent different parts of their lives and personality.

Caius's main colours being Orange, yellow and green. And Valeri's being red, blue and orange.

Fun Fact Friday - Valeri cor Mantgamia

He has two dogs, Cúén and Faendie. They are Cabalusian Bear Dogs, originally bred for hunting big game like bears, but also used by the Cabalusian cavalry class íochiar, which Valeri is too, for warfare. Valeri's dogs are trained for war. They are black, though Faendie has white in her chest, big and they are basically a fantasy world version of Karelian Bear Dogs. He loves them a lot. They sleep with him and go with him basically everywhere. They have a hierarchy since Faedie is older, so she gets to sleep on Valeri's back as his weight blanket, while Cúén sleeps on his feet.

Cúén shares his name with Cúén cor Faélci, though Valeri doesn't know that yet, since Faélci is going with his cousin's name. Once they become hated allies and Valeri learns Faélci's real first name, he absolutely will not let it go that they share a name. What makes it funnier to Valeri is that Faélci is very cold and prickly, while Cúén the dog is extremely eager to please, hyper-active and always demanding affection from Valeri. The amount of times Valeri makes the "Do you want scratches, Cúén?" *turns to Faélci* "I'm talking to the dog" joke as if it never gets old is many.

He has a nice singing voice, but he has too much social anxiety to ever sing in front of other people.

He has extensive burn scars in his back. The worst burns have caused nerve damage, which causes him chronic pain. It's worst in summer, since the pain flares with temperature changes, but it's usually fairly manageable with pain medication.

He's religious. He was raised for several years in an orphanage run by a temple, so he became quite devout Arkhonite, which is the main religion in the Angusian Empire. The main god worshipped in Arkhonity is the Sun God (there's two gods) and a lot of the rituals involve fire, which is a problem for Valeri, since he has pretty bad phobia for fire, and cannot even light a candle himself.

I had a very weird dream a few weeks ago.

They're a little shepherd that had a flock of giant and extremely soft black sheep. And Apollo saved them from furies that mistook them for Narcissus (and thought he managed to escape his death). Zeus also helped them a bit to escape. Just a bit.

And then they slept with Apollo. But literally sleep like close your eyes sleep. Not the other kind of sleep.
