Valefar knew IMMEDIATELY, she had a crush very early on and did everything she could to win Poyel over, either until she would agree to date Val, or until she would openly reject the worm.

Poyel thought Valefar was being nice and friendly, and touchy, and all the things an oblivious person can think. She took WAY LONGER to understand Val was hitting on her, and even then it was mostly experimental, since Poyel wasn't sure how she felt about it.

Then one night they were sitting near a fireplace, Poyel staring into the fire, Valefar asleep on her shoulder, and suddenly it clicked.

"Oh. I'm in love. WAIT, HOLD ON-"

Aaand the rest is history.
