Dragons of Dusk and Dawn (Valhalla Destiny)
(Valhalla Destiny is actually the brainchild of @greenreticule)
It’s not entirely understood how these souls came into the world of the Traveler, or how the Light found them. All that we know is that they are here, with histories spanning thousands of different universes and worlds beyond what we can see. And we know that they are our Guardians.
Character 1: Takumi (Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest)
The ghost that awoke the young Hunter wasn’t sure what to expect, as the young man opened his eyes to see the area around him crawling with Fallen. But the Ghost certainly wasn’t expecting for him to pull out a bow and to take them all down with bright green arrows.
Prince Takumi of Hoshido, after his corruption by Anankos and consequent defeat by the hands of his sibling had little to his name then the prized Fuyin Yumi and a clear head, full of guilt over his actions under Anankos’ possession.
Takumi eased himself very easily into the duties of a Guardian, though had issues with learning how to use firearms, and for the first several months preferred to use the Fuyin Yumi, which perplexed literally anyone who shared a patrol with his group. He eventually makes his name as a sniper, both with rifles and bows, while the rest of his team takes things heads on.
However while Takumi’s experiences of having his anger get the best of him, has tempered him a bit, he still is Takumi and can be very hot headed and easily annoyed. One such nuiscance is his Guardian, who was a chipper little thing always happy to help, but quite annoying at the same time. Takumi gave it the nickname Kiragi, and he is not sure where the name came from. He also clashes a bit with his other teammates Elise and Azura, though he ends up taking the leadership role out of the three. By the time he reunites with his brother Ryoma in this new world, he has grown into quite the leader in a world where many of the things keeping him down no longer mattered.
Character 2: Elise (Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright)
After being mistakenly slain by her older brother’s blade, Princess Elise’s corpse appeared in the world of the Traveler, and was found by Takumi, not even an hour after his awakening. He was very close to abandoning it, not wanting to be around the annoying Nohr brat but ultimately defended it from Fallen as her soon-to-be ghost awoke her. Unlike Takumi she appeared with no weapons, but was quick to pick them up from Fallen corpses to assist Takumi. A girl who had once been a simple healer in another world, had guns come to her like second nature.
Elise ironically is probably the best soldier in her Fireteam, because of her adeptness in using guns along with easily adapting to her abiltiies as a Warlock, while the others took much longer to figure out how to use them. However even while killing Fallen, she is still the same sweet girl, and is also humorously still the same height as her original self. Her ghost is very much unlike her, being very monotone and understated, and would probably spend all his time sleeping if he wasn’t an AI. She gave him the name Dwyer, a name that seems strangely nostalgic to her...
However her presence is perplexing to Takumi at first because her account of her first death does not make any sense, because Castle Krakenberg had never been a battlefield in his memory, and based on Elise’s age her death had to have happened around the time of his...
Character: Azura (Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Conquest)
Azura awoke in the world of the Traveler with only two memories: her name and a song. The reason for her complete memory loss is because her death happened in two converging timelines at the same time, and caused her past memories to cancel themselves out when she was reincarnated. She was discovered by Takumi and Elise simply wondering around singing her enchanted song in the dungeons of the Hive, making them flee from her with no need to use weapons.
Much like Takumi and his bow, Azura arrived in this world with her pendant, which still operates in roughly the same way, though here it is considered a strong container of Light. While Azura is capable of fighting as a Warlock, she prefers being in a support role as a medic and also rejuvinating her Guardian friends with Light through the use of her pendant, much like she did in her original time. She is very quiet, many in the City are shocked whenever she manages to get a word in edgewise between her two chatty companions. Her Ghost is equally as polite and quiet, she gave it the nickname Shigure.
