Cute OC Asks

7) What are the OC’s favorite smells? Scents of incense, foods, candles, plants, etc.

Saoirse’s favorite smell is petrichor (and fun fact for those who do not know, anyone who makes a deal with them, or is protected by them, will smell like petrichor to other demons/entities/beings, it’s like their specific mark) but they also like the smell of pine trees and gasoline like gas lamps.

Meredith wouldn’t say she had a favorite smell, but she does like the smell of firewood, as well as any kind of earthy scent, like sandalwood.The most floral she’s willing to go is apple.

Rodrigo likes scents like peppercorn, cinnamon, leather, and amber—but he gravitates towards citrusy scents as well!

Jacqui’s favorite scent is jasmine, and he tends to like “clean” scents like linen and basil, and of course sea salt. He does like sweet scents like vanilla, but can get overwhelmed easily by sweetness.

Ambrose likes rose scented things the most, and tends to like anything that is floral with a hint of something darker, like patchouli or anything woodsy underneath.

if we went by whose look I’d steal the fastest, we’d never go past Nana (or Sanlaurento), so instead I chose Artemisia, Milenko, and Louisa —from left to right— for a quick fashion inspo.

A-Z of Mannerisms/Behaviors

M. Muse: Does your character talk when they’re alone, or to inanimate objects?

Andreya: On occasion, but most of her dialogue are just thoughts—thoughts that move an hundred miles a second but rarely does she talk out loud to herself or objects (she's way too used to Elizabeth filling up the silence).

Elizabeth: Yes, literally always, even if there are other people in the room—she can be looking over a map with Meredith and start scolding her pen for jamming up and Meredith is just "can you please shut the hell up oh my god".

N. Necklace: Does your character have mannerisms based on the things they wear, such as pushing up their glasses or checking their watch?

Andreya: If her necklace is hanging loose, not tucked behind her shirt, she is always playing with the gem between her fingers, rolling it around, tugging on the chain. She usually keeps her hair up, but if it's down she tends to tuck it behind her ears by habit.

Elizabeth: She is always looping her curls around her fingers if not otherwise preoccupied, moves her ring around her hands and fingers (often wearing it as a wedding ring just Because), smoothes out her skirt every time she sits or stands.

W. Wiggle: How often does your character fidget? In what ways do they fidget?

Andreya: Not much of a fidgeter unless she's extremely bored or extremely stressed, and then she might play with her own hands, squeezing them together, wringing them, tugging absentmindedly at the front of her shirt.

Elizabeth: Fidgets always, playing with her hair, Andreya's or Theodore's hair, turning her earrings around in her ears, bouncing her knee or tapping her feet. Occasionally nibbles at her nails but doesn't bite them. She used to get in trouble for fidgeting so much when she was small and couldn't pay attention during lessons, but once she's focused on something she doesn't fidget as much.

G. Grow: Has your character picked up any mannerisms from other characters? Do they tend to imitate other people without realizing it?

Meredith picked up a lot of mannerisms from the previous Queen Aria during their four years of training, though since she's not around anymore Meredith isn't really aware of it. Tariq, Saoirse, and Marjorie, all of whom were around both of them, are very much aware of this and frequently talk about how Meredith scrunched her nose like Aria did or something similar—and Meredith would die of embarrassment if she knew.

20. What were the most deeply impressive political or social, national or international, events that they experienced?

Saoirse’s been around for literally every major event in human history, at least in the Arcanaverse they’re older than humanity itself, but the only ones that they personally remember are any events or wars that involved the Queen

It’s rare, considering the fact that the Pirate Queen notoriously doesn’t want anything to do with countries and their governments but there have been a few wars that she took part in due to family issues or personal favors or something else

Saoirse doesn’t know or care about the historical names of the wars, most of them are landlocked anyway, but they refer to them by the Queen that was around at the time — for example, what humans would call the Original War between Prakra and Vesuvia, Saoirse would call it Queen Ambikah’s War since it happened during her reign and that is an example of a war the Queen fought in (and actually died as a result of it)

Off the list — Saoirse remembers Niamh very fondly, in the whole timeline of Queens they spent very little time with her, but she had the most impact on them, introducing them to humans and freeing them from their imprisonment under the ice of Ethari

This is part of the reason Niamh’s descendants are treated almost like celebrities on Ethari, acknowledging the impact she had on Saoirse and the culture surrounding the Pirate Queen

Saoirse sees a lot of Niamh in Meredith, they were both from Southern tribes who lived in harsh climates and had to be tough to survive. They think Niamh would have liked to meet Meredith, that she would be proud of her as a Queen

Horror Themed OC Asks

9. What role/archetype would your oc fulfill in a horror movie?

Alec is, as should be no surprise, a Jock. She'd punch the killer in the nose and run screaming the opposite way while carrying an injured group member in her arms but she might actually live in the end!

Jamil is the Scholar, he is smart, he is resourceful, he is also probably the poor sap who gets caught because of something stupid someone else in his group did, but he will make sure to disable the killer somehow before they go after the rest of the group.

Camia is the Old Person/Final Girl — think Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween. She's done this before, she knows how to mentor the rest of the group, and she's not going down without a fight, if at all. You will survive if she's watching your back.

Leon, if not the Entity themself, is the Skeptic. Argues over every point brought up, only does not get killed because Jamil won't let it happen, would actively taunt the killer. Could kill the killer when push comes to shove, though, they might blow up the house with them.

Amparo and Artemisia's parents are called Cassiopeia Cassano and Iris Cassano (née De Souza Mebarak).

Iris' family is Venterrean-Vesuvian, they have a summer state in the region of Lulia (yes, this references your own post). She's the youngest of four children (Teresa Aliyah (she/her), Rasim Osvaldo (he/him), Ferreira Maria (he/they) and themself Iris José). Her parents names are Emira Nadra Inas Mubarak, Barona of Almeida and Thiago Teodoro Ferreira De Souza.

Iris absolutely was the rebellious one. Often sneaked out just because they could. As part of their status-worthy education, they speak five languages, do calligraphy, horse-rides, fences and does archery, though she usually sneaked out during her lessons and practices.

Thiago Teodoro was incredibly lenient with her because, as the youngest, Iris was not going to inherit anything. Nadra has never stuck through a punishment she ever gave her. From a point on she just sighed, and as long as Iris didn't put themself in danger or ridicule, she didn't really care.

The Emira is almost never in Almeida (a fortress City State near Karnassos) as it is ruled by her older brother. The Lulia Summer State is hers.

The family has property in Almeida, Venterre's capital, Lulia and Vesuvia. They don't dislike the Cassano because that is social suicide but they, of course, prefer it when they aren't to inconvenienced. Someone must care for the populace of course, but don't poke them too much. The Emira is a little more involved than Thiago. She vastly prefers Nadia.

Still, when Iris went into a relationship with Cassiopeia Thiago Teodoro and the Emira were both you What. Iris promptly reminded them that they thought they didn't dislike them :)

Though Iris took the surname, sometimes it's hard for them to assimilate they are Iris Cassano and not Iris José De Souza-Mubarak. Iris never realised how different they could be from Cassiopeia until they had to meet Cassie's parents. Both of them were high priests (a high priestess and a high priest respectively, but both of them used they/them pronouns) and deeply involved with causes of social justice and the well-being off those who sought refuge in the Temple District.

Amparo gets her wall climbing tendencies from Iris.

Uncle Ferreira covered a lot for Iris when they were teenagers, and he is the one who sees Amparo and Artemisia the most. Iris thinks Artemisia sometimes resembles him in disposition. So concerned, so responsible, but when she feels out of place, Iris is reminded of themself.

Both Amparo and Artemisia are transfeminine. Amparo is a trans woman, and Art is genderfluid.
