Fake Sisters - Turn The Bells

Oh yeah, turn that pin vice, get that copper wire, pinning time agogo. Well, glue most of the body together first. Sword arm first to pin, as it's a nice clean pinning line.

I'm hoping this isn't the "this is the moment they fucked up" part, as when I did the first bit (pin in the bigger piece first with some superglue) I couldn't remember if I tend to use superglue on the other end or just plastic cement.

HOW HAVE I FORGOTTEN WHAT I DO WHEN I PIN SHIT LIKE THIS. HOW?

It's akin to one of those moments where you go to type in a login and just vanishes from your brain, even though you use the credentials multiple times a day.

Maybe my brain's finally started to give in. Hmm, no, just tired and trying not to think about the abyssal horror I'm close to crafting in the day job. OK, not a big horror, maybe a baby. A very ugly baby. With no skin. And bones sticking out. And a toupée.

Back on topic, I concluded I dislike my right arm choice. It doesn't really fit right with the movement I'm trying to convey, and feels like I'd have to sub-assembly it. Sigh. So instead, find a nice straight arm and swing it back a bit. Oh, and drill the barrel.

So all together, just about. I managed to repurpose the initial arm, but somehow ended up with another janky arm. That one's even worse for painting behind, so just the 1 bit of upside down sub-assembly!

Fake sisters - Unfinished Business

The theme for the second half of the month is incompleteness. I mean, that's every week of every month on this little interweb corner, but it's something of a ran-out-of-time origin.

There are supposed to be three. The third currently has just the legs stuck to the crotch, without even attachment to the base.

Oh yes, the base thing. These will be bad from a proper do-the-base-first perspective, but they WILL GET BASED. They're to allow me to do a bad job, or fail depending on how you look at, to try to learn. So the basing set will be used!

Anyhoo, now we're clear of artificial bulbousness of white tack, and have the smooth silk of cemented plastic on plastic, there's a better sense of their general heft. And, er, it's fine. The level of heft is fine. The handle-trimmed marine weapons work well enough, though they need to be prepped and I'm still undecided on whether we're going sub-assembly with them.

We will do with the heads, though. Those gorgets are pretty high, and my brush control is not stellar. While I am allowed to fail a bit with these, there's failing because of skill issues and failing because we weren't set up to succeed.
