If younger Valkyrie would've ever asked her mother about her time in the circle would Griffin talk with her about that? Or when she asked about her relationship with Valtor? I do not really see Griffin as a person who would hide these things from her daughter. But I also can see that she wouldn't tell her about the dark things she has done and that have happened. Also I could imagine that she doesn't like to think back to the time with Valtor because it's too painful. But I could see how Salvador tells her something. Nothing which Griffin would disagree with but things he knows Griffin would struggle with to think about. I can see how he tells her how Valtor and Griffin where together before everything go to hell. How they acted around each other and how different they both where.
But I would love to read your thought about it. How would such a conversation go with Griffin and Salvador?
Griffin never kept things from Valkyrie.
She may have simplified things for Valkyrie when she was younger and asking questions, but she never hid things.
In my stories, Griffin told her and had been implied to have told her things about the Coven and the war. About how she wasn't always on the side of good. How she got swept up in promises of revolution and ended up in a cult.
Its why she always harped on certain things and on defensive spells when Valkyrie was growing up. Why she taught protective sigils. Why she made sure Valkyrie would be able to defend herself both mentally and physically.
Granted, there were things Valkyrie learned from others. Like her uncle Sal and aunt Faragonda told her bits about her father that Griffin refused to talk about.
(Griffin told her bits and pieces but always reminded Valkyrie that he chose power and vengeance over family.)
The only thing Griffin didn't flat out tell Valkyrie about was the visions Lysslis had about the young witch joining the Coven. No point in thinking about something that would never happen.
