To non-Finnish people: 1st of May celebrations are a big thing in Nordic countries, a labor day/student day celebration which includes lots of carnivals and heavy drinking. College/uni students will put on overalls that are colored based on their areas of study, and people will also don their graduation caps, which are the white navy cap looking hats. And a tradition in Helsinki is that at 6 pm, the statue of Havis Amanda (nicknamed "Manta") is given a cap of her own. Basically, this entire post was based on a brainfart I got yesterday at the Mayday festivities, aka "What if the cast of TADC were finnish" LMAO
