at the local pet store today at valley pets i found out i could volunteer there then become working there if it happens
so im going to volunteer for a bit there just to be around snakes and other animals they got. today we feed some boa babies, ball python babies, Honduras milk snake, kenyan sand boa. it was fun, some were being a pain to not eat, so we did some fishing( which is throwing in a mouse and which ever snake grabs it we take them out and put them right into a tub to finish eatting), some who were housed by themselves we just threw the mouse in there and they went at it. the ones that didnt go for the mouse right away we did watch them just in case they did anything but most were hoppers/weanlings down to pinkies so not a big worry, but we did watch them all.
we did have to force feed two snakes though, idk about the last two boas who didnt eat when i was there, i hope they ate or was forced feed. it was fun seeing them go towards the mice given and then taking them out was easy and fun.
will go back and volunteer again... it was so much fun
thats how i found out that guy with the western hognose
and sadly they already sold the bumblebee ball i wanted, but ill have to wait or buy one on bhb or get a spider and pastel to breed to get one
ok so i had one of my life bucket list done with in the snake part of it
i got to actually hold a bumblebee bp who when i put it back was holding tightly to my left ring finger and not letting go. i must of been warm or something. i know if i get enough money, which its 500 bucks, all i need to get it the light, heater and maybe a bigger water dish and it would be fine, so i think that would be up to 600 if i estamate a bit high. so wish i could of got the snake today. been wanting one and it liked me and had beautiful eyes and everything. yup i know what snake im getting next, its going to deff be a bp even a norm if it happens that way.
