Imagine the difference when Vampire!Philip meets Relic Hunter!Reader for the first time. XD He probably tried to attack them for blood before they shoved a blood packet from the first aid kit in his mouth instead. He goes from feral to ???? when that happens XD
He scares the living shit out of the rest of the crew, but Trinket seems unfazed by him for some reason. They also seem one step ahead of him when it comes to his cravings.
If Philip did end up killing Beloved, he would have lost the will to fight and hide to live. He insisted that Caleb needed to kill him. He's not human anymore. He just killed an innocent person, even worse, Beloved.
Caleb, horrified about your death, was equally horrified by his request and refused. Philip became angry and told him to hand him over to their father then. Let him go out by Arthur's hand at least. He did not deserve a cure. He deserved to perish like the monsters his family hunted.
Caleb started twisting logic to get Philip to calm down and stop this. Your death was an accident. You wouldn't want Philip to be killed over an accident. You were too kind to think that. He'll take care of your body, he'll take care of everything. Caleb was doing everything not to lose his brother a second time.
When Philip finally bought what Caleb was telling him, Philip said he needed to get away from the town. There was no telling who would find him next and for all they knew, it could have been their mother. Caleb, upon hearing this, realized he was right and decided that wherever Philip went, he'd follow. He was determined to find a cure for him.
When the two found themselves in the Boiling Isles, Caleb met a witch and enlisted her help to find a cure while trying his best to keep Philip under control. Little did Caleb know the grave mistake he made by not killing Philip when he had the chance.
I just realized something about Vampire Belos:
Since he can sense heartbeats, he can probably tell some anatomical differences apart, like sixlze of the heart/vases, or how big the bile sack is, considering it is connected to the heart.
Luz does not have a bile sack.
Back in EaE, he was already a vampire.
Ergo, Philip would have known that Luz was human right out of the gate.
True, but I think it would have to come down to him caring to check than automatically sensing it.
Then again, if he's a vampire, he took down the Stone Sleeper himself >XD
Though it would be interesting to see an EaE AU like that...
Imagine Arthur going to the barn in the morning and finding Beloved's corpse with a huge bite taken from their neck. And then he sees that Caleb (and Philip, if he didn't know he was turned) are missing.
Caleb would have taken care of Beloved's body. He'd feel terrible if he didn't. He's apologizing profusely under his breath, trying not to break down crying as he carried you into the woods in the dead of night with a shovel strapped to his back. Philip stayed behind, but unbeknownst to Caleb, he was trying to leave on his own. Caleb only caught a glimpse of him leaving when he got back.
Though Arthur going out to the barn to find his sons missing and a huge bloodstain on the ground would scare the shit out of him, even more so when it's found out that you're missing. It starts painting a very grim picture. Philip, Caleb had told everyone had left town. You were last seen earlier that day and Caleb was seen that night in the town with a bolt of cloth under his arm and rope. Now Caleb is missing.
However, someone would have remembered seeing Philip leaving that night...
Imagine that Philip accidentally turned Beloved instead.
He turned Beloved without realizing it and you don't come around until after they are in the BI. You decide to follow his scent.
The sight of you ALIVE in the BI after you tracked him down will bring Philip to his knees. Caleb will panic as he doesn't know what to do about this. You aren't angry, you aren't violent towards him. You're quite reserved compared to how he was when he came back.
How you treat him from there depends on how your relationship with him before he killed you.
If Vampire Philip killed Beloved, how did it go?
It was a complete accident. And for him, it happened like a flash of light. One moment, you're approaching him, asking him if he's all right and the next, you're in his arms with a deep bite mark on your neck and blood covering the front of his and your clothes. A lot of it. Your eyes were half-lidded and you weren't responding to him shaking you. All warmth had left your body.
He had been in hiding thanks to Caleb and upon hearing you calling out for Caleb, he found himself losing control. Your scent was strong and growing stronger as you entered the barn and found him standing there. You were surprised to see him since Caleb had told everyone that Philip had left entirely. He could hear your heartbeat and it was deafening, pushing him over the edge.
What kills Philip more, looking back on this memory, is you were confused but genuinely happy to see him.
Caleb found Philip on his knees, holding you while shaking and crying silently about what he had just done.
How long would it take for Belos to drain a normal-sized person? (And how long did it take for Philip with Beloved?)
Considering bleeding to death can happen very quickly, (within 20 minutes depending on the size of the hemorrhage) I would imagine it wouldn't take long at all.
For Beloved, it's hard to say since he was out of his mind. I would imagine it happened fast enough that Caleb could have left and come back within a half hour to find his brother clinging to Beloved's dead body, shaking like a leaf.
When I said that there was a bite in Beloved's neck, I didn't mean the usual "pinpricks" you see in Dracula. I meant an actual devastating BITE, which is what Belos would avoid doing when it comes to R!Reader.
